Posted February 25, 200817 yr comment_5428622 As good as you would hope this would be. Violence, blood, insane dives, punches to the face, blood, blood. Dandy hits maybe the greatest tope I have ever seen, and they just murder each other. This is as good as the best Mid-South brawls, and it isn't even the best lucha brawl on this set. Slam Dunk
February 26, 200817 yr comment_5428653 This was Holy shit great. I think dandy was attacked before match as he's nursing his leg before opening bell. All Japan count out finish leading to double head shave is a great finish.
April 21, 201114 yr comment_5470233 Watched this with my brother last night and even though I am still relatively new to Lucha, I thought this was a pretty self evidently great match. In some ways I was surprised by how low key it was, as the violence was real but deliberate and calculated, rather than the sort of wild brawl I have become used to with recent IWRG. One thing I really loved about the finish was that it had been teased several times with earlier dive spots, so even though I knew it was coming, I didn't know when it was coming. Really looking forward to watching more Dandy singles matches after this.
May 6, 201114 yr comment_5470836 I thought the first fall was a touch dry for these guys, but the segunda caida kicked in, and Dandy started bleeding, and this match became what you want from a Dandy/Emilio hair match. Easy nomination. [EMLL 7/30/89]
July 22, 201213 yr comment_5510869 Caballera contra Caballera: El Dandy vs. Emilio Charles Jr. (7/28/89) What can you say about this one other than this is greatness. Dandy is wearing white here which is great for a bloody hair match. This is just a battle of two of the best in the world at that time going to absolute war on each other with their big hair on the line and doing whatever it took to keep their locks. Crazy bumping, crazy diving, hard hitting action, great crowd, this is what you wanted here and got it in spades. This is a slam dunk nomination and I think easily a Top 10 pick.
