This is just a bloody brawl with both men just beating the piss out of each other along with using the barbed wire as the main weapon. It’s a grueling battle with both men being exhausted and the finish was simply awesome. Masterlock nomination.
March 4, 200817 yr comment_5429017 Jerry Lawler vs. Dutch Mantel (3/29/82) - Both guys are really tentative to start. Once Dutch gets control, he starts carving Lawler up with the barbed wire. I love how when Lawler goes on offense, it consists of using the barbed wire and punching Mantel square in the head. Thankfully, Mantel can give as good as he gets and we get a war. It may sound cliche but Lawler did not win this match, he survived it and the finish plays up that theme perfectly. Another Top Ten match.
March 4, 200817 yr comment_5429022 Lawler vs. Mantell This is the barbed wire match. Their are some cool teasing of spots throughout the match. I thought both wrestlers were great at working the barbed wire into the match. We get the awesome punch exchanges. Mantell drops a great elbow. Man Lawler milked that Piledriver. This was just a great give and take fight. This was an awesome bout, and a slam dunk nomination.
April 24, 200817 yr comment_5430849 Just an epic battle, Russell compared this to Ali v. Frazier and it really had that feel to it. Both guys were so awesome at playing worn out and beaten, and the finish to the match is just perfect. I could see this being my #1 at the end of this all
