Posted February 26, 200817 yr comment_5428656 We get an Austin/condrey vs. Mantell/Stark to start. Their are some neat exchanges between both heels and Mantell. condrey was great in his attempt to ride Stark on the mat. The heels are just super bumping around for the faces. The faces have controled the first 6 minutes of this match. At the 8 minute mark the heels take control and put Stark in FIP. The heels are great at cutting off Stark's attempted tags. The heels offense looks crisp. The heels throw Stark over the top rope and get disqualified. Post match while Stark sells outside the MX just put a beating on Mantell. Just as the MX were going to hit their finisher on Mantell; Lawler make the save. othing from Lawler. Mantell wants nothing from Lawler. This was a tremendus studio bout and the whole presentation deserves a nomination. The wrestlers got 11 minutes to have a killer studio match. Sonny King has a real heartfelt promo. This was tremendous. He wants a championship match for his son. He's coming back from open heart surgery that was caused from a stab wound. Lawler responds with a great promo in an attempt to stay face.He does a great job here. A Possible extra. Their is a great music recap of the Dundee vs. Sugar/Eaton feud. Eaton/Sugar vs. Embry/Robert Gibson This is an expiration of time bout. Eaton and Sugar are an awesome team. This is fast paced. It looks like Sugar and Eaton are seeing who can take the highest back drop. Embry is put FIP after doing a leapfrong into a brutal clothesline. Their is some great heel work here. Just not enough time for things to develop. Their is an awesome studio brawl with the Gibson's and the MX. This might be an extra. The Assassins vs. Morton/Thundercloud The crowd is 100% behind Morton. Morton looks great early. Some great heel miscue allows Morton to make a hot tag. This was solid, but just not a nomination. Dundee/The Gibsons vs. Sugar/Eaton/Lane This is an expiration of time bout. Sugar and Dundee are great with one another. Robert Gibson has a great near fall on Sugar. The Match got thrown out. Just not enough time for it to develop.
February 26, 200817 yr comment_5428658 Pretty sure I watched the whole thing but I have no memory of the MX tag. The Sonny King stuff is a definite extra, though.
February 26, 200817 yr Author comment_5428659 Even Lance Russell is kinda suprised how awesome it is. He mentions at least twice about how fast the pace is.
March 10, 200817 yr comment_5429273 Dennis Condrey & Norvell Austin vs. Dutch Mantel & Joe Stark - Surprisingly, Stark doens't look like a complete jobber here. He gets the better of Austin, forcing him to tag and then hangs woith Condrey for a little while until he makes the tag to Dutch. This caught me off guard as I expected this to be similar to the Batten/Savage match where Stark gets beat on by the heels the entire time. Eventually, all would be right with the world and Stark would get his ass kicked but this was abiout 7 minutes after him and Mantel had their shine. Even though the MX had the match under control, they inexplicably throw STark over the top rope for the DQ. Strange ending when the Doomsday Device could have been the finisher but this was still a decent tag that won't rank high but should be nominated. Jerry Lawler Interview w/ Sonny King Promo (EXTRA) Memphis Music Video (Classical Medley) Jerry Lawler vs. The Invader - Squash Jimmy Hart & Dream Machine Interview Dream Machine vs. Bobby Fulton - Machine allows Fulton a monkey flip before squashing him. Robert Gibson & Eric Embry vs. Bobby Eaton & Sweet Brown Sugar - Early on, this was freaking sweet. Great speed by all guys, Gibson's dropkicks looked swank, big bumps by Koko. There was a cool leap frog moment where Embry leapfrogs Eaton, only to get popped by Sugar. Still, once Embry was in, that team had no shot and Eaton/Sugar dispose of him quickly. +++ Dutch Mantel vs. The Invader - Dutch wins this easily Battel Royal Arena Clip Original Midnight Express vs. Rogers & McCord - OMX abuse the jobber before the Gibsons come out for a brawl. I don't know if I would call this extra material though. Speed vs. Dennis Upton - Speed wins. Cuban Assassin & Iranian Assassin vs. Rick Morton & Thundercloud - Assassins win after Thunderclous protects himself on a weak looking double clothesline. Bill Dundee, Ricky & Robert Gibson vs. Sweet Brown Sugar, Stan Lane & Bobby Eaton - This one barely got started before it turns into a shmozz. Damn. Jerry Lawler Interview
May 22, 200817 yr comment_5431458 Dennis Condrey & Norvell Austin vs. Dutch Mantel & Joe Stark I enjoyed this, especially for Norvell's bumping, and Starks amature stuff, the post match angle was pretty great too as it was a nasty beatdown. I am going to vote yes for now, although to be honest I think this probably won't make the final cut. Man is that Sonny King angle awesome
July 18, 200817 yr comment_5433082 Dirty Dutch Mantell & Joe Stark vs. Norvell Austin & Dennis Condrey (4/17/82) Count me in also as impressed with Stark early in this match as they let him get some offense in and he looked fine in doing it. MX were also great here in selling for their opponents then punishing Stark when they finally got the advantage and I loved the way they were keeping Stark from making the tag then baiting Dutch in the ring. The nise Doomsday Device was great and I think they were just so frustrated with the faces that they chunked Stark over the top rope and didn’t care about the finish. Jerry Calhoun tacking Norvell Austin then getting punched was awesome as well as Lawler making the save. You guys are underestimating how good this match was as this was a helluva sprint and is an easy nomination. Next is the great Sonny King angle and this is a tremendous extra. Then we get the Dundee/First Family feud video that I’ve already said was extra material. “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton & Sweet Brown Sugar vs. Eric Embry & Robert Gibson (4/17/82) This was a really good fast paced match with Eaton & Sugar looking fucking awesome as a team. After the leapfrog spot the match basically turned into a quasi-squash match. Still fun though but not a nomination.
