Bruiser Brody & Moondog Moretti vs. Jumbo Tsuruta & Takashi Ishikawa (9/12/84)

- Brody wins with a big knee drop on Ishikawa. Nothing special.

 

Jumbo Tsuruta vs. Jim Brunzell (AWA Title, 4/26/84)

- Brunzell looks like a more credible opponent but you still know he is on a lower rung of the ladder. Jumbo keeps control with a headlock and the story is Brunzell trying to break the headlock but Jumbo is too strong to let go. He tries to throw him off the ropes but Jumbo won’t budge. He tries for a belly to back but Jumbo won’t lift. Jumping Jim is able to gain control by tripping Jumbo up which makes perfect sense. Jim takes control holding on to an armbar and they work that with Jumbo displaying his strength again. The match ends with Jim trying to lift Jumbo up for a piledriver move but Jumbo reversing and landing on top of Jim for the pin. Solid match but nothing that would have a chance in hell on this set. .

 

Bruiser Brody & Stan Hansen vs. Giant Baba & Dory Funk Jr. (PWF Tag Title, 4/25/84)

- Another one of those matches where Brody and Hansen give nothing to Dory. However, instead of Terry, you have Baba in there. This leads to an average match where Baba gets control when he is in but Dory is given nothing when he is in the ring. The match ends when Dory has Brody in a spinning toe hold but Hansen gives him a lariat and Brody the win.

Bruiser Brody & Moondog Moretti vs. Takashi Ishikawa & Jumbo Tsuruta (9/12/84)

 

Brody & Moretti is an odd team for sure. This wasn't much of anything at all.

 

Already seen Jumbo/Brunzell.

 

PWF Tag Titles Tournament - Finals: Bruiser Brody & Stan "The Lariat" Hansen vs. Giant Baba & Dory Funk Jr. (4/25/84)

 

This is another one of those Brody/Hansen matches where they dominate almost the whole match but this is a hybrid as it combines their formulas from the Funks & Baba/Jumbo series in that they give almost nothing to Dory and then sell some for Baba. There is some good action here and juice but it just falls flat for me.
