Southern Tag Titles: The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) vs. The Bruise Brothers (Dream Machine & Porkchop Cash) (11/14/83)

RnR is out to avenge Paul Morton’s injury suffered at the hands of the Bruisers and they come out firing on all cylinders rendering Dream a bloody mess. Fabs come out and attack Cornette as the action is going on in the ring then give him a spike piledriver on the floor. Jerry Calhoun is also down as the faces come out to pull the Fabs to the back. The match continues with Morton trying to get a pin on Dream as Chops KOed Gibson with a chain. Gibson would get back up though to the corner as Morton is getting beat down by the Bruisers. Dream is bleeding all over the ring but gets his shots in on Morton as well who just gets pounded for seemingly forever. Hart would come out and threw a chain to Dream who popped Morton to get the pin and win the titles. This was all about Cornette getting fucked up and Morton getting demolished but the action was great and I’m throwing this on the block.

Southern Tag Titles: The Bruise Brothers (Dream Machine & Porkchop Cash) © vs. The Rock n Roll Express (Robert Gibson & Ricky Morton) (11/7/83)

This was the match that had the Paul Morton injury and the title change due to Ricky Morton pinning Chops but wasn’t the legal man. The action here was your basic RnR type match with Morton getting the heat and the hot tag to Gibson. The match the week later was the better match so I don’t think this one needs to go on the block but the Paul Morton angle must be included as the setup for the 11/14 match.

International Heavyweight Title: “Universal Heartthrob” Austin Idol © vs. Stan “The Lariat” Hansen (9/12/83)

Hansen attacks Idol as he comes to the ring and throws him on the table rendering him bloody. Hansen keeps pounding on Idol but eventually Austin fights up and starts throwing bombs on Hansen. Hansen would hit Idol who would knock down Paul Morton then nailed Idol with a lariat that sent him to the floor. Hansen brings Morton over to count out Idol on the floor, which he does and as soon as Idol gets back in the ring he just destroys him with the belt. This wasn’t even 5 minutes but it was great fun.

International Heavyweight Title: Stan “The Lariat” Hansen © vs. “Universal Heartthrob” Austin Idol (9/19/83)

Hansen gets on the mic before the match calling Idol a pussy then some fan yells at him calling him a yellow-bellied cocksucker. Idol would come out in the dark and attacked Hansen pounding on him relentlessly but that doesn’t last too long as Hansen starts firing back. Hansen would stay on offense a bit before missing a kneedrop off the middle rope giving Idol the chance to work on his left knee to prepare for the Las Vegas Leglock. Hart jumps on the apron and Idol starts pounding on him but it gives Hansen the chance to go after Idol who gets his leg caught up in the ropes. Hansen throws Paul Morton down for the DQ and starts stomping Idol’s leg until Lawler shows up and starts brawling with Hansen until Ventura jumps him. They double-team Lawler until Idol cleans house with a chair. Once again a short match but a fun one with more fun after the match.

Texas Bullrope Match for the International Heavyweight Title: Stan “The Lariat” Hansen © vs. “Universal Heartthrob” Austin Idol (10/3/83)

This had some great action as both men bleed good here due to the shots from the cowbell and both men do whatever it takes to tag all the turnbuckles. Hart would give Hansen powder and throws it in his eyes as he goes to touch the 4th corner. Hansen then tries to touch them all but Idol fights his hardest that comes up for naught as Hansen wins the match. Idol cries to Calhoun that powder was thrown in his face and Calhoun would reverse his decision giving Idol the win. This was awesome and a definite nomination even with the overturned finish.

Bunkhouse Match for the International Heavyweight Title: “Universal Heartthrob” Austin Idol © vs. Stan “The Lariat” Hansen (10/10/83)

This is the culmination of their big feud as Hansen was about to go back to Japan. Everything here was great as both men just beat the fuck out of each other and Hansen pounds on Paul Morton then gives a lariat to Eddie Marlin. Hansen starts getting beaten on by Idol enough that he decides to leave the ring and loses by countout. Was the finish bad yeah but the action here was tremendous and a definite nomination.

The Fabulous Ones (Steve Keirn & Stan Lane) vs. The Moondogs (Rex & Spot) (6/13/83)

This is just a wild brawl from the start with chairs being thrown in the ring and Keirn nails Jerry Calhoun with a chair immediately. Both teams swing chairs wildly as the bell rings then they bring in the ringside table then the action just gets wilder as both teams beat each other’s brains out. Fantastic brawl.

I htought I had reviewed this disc but I guess I just watched the matches...

RNR Express vs. Cash & Dream Machine (11/14/83)

- This started off fast and all but what the hell kind of sequence was Cash trying to botch there in the early moments? That might have been a deal breaker in a TV match but in a 15 minute match it isn't that big an issue. First few minutes are all RNR and Machine is busted open less than two minutes in. The RNR are fighting pissed and I like it. The stuff with Cornette at ringside distracted from the match but it was nice seeing Gibson take a bump when he wasn't even the focus of the camera. When the action returns, the Bruise are in control and Morton plays FIP. Thank God for Morton being such a sympathetic character because the Bruise Bros. aren't really inspiring me with their control segment. For a tag team, they don't do alot of things well together. In a change of pace, Morton never gets the hot tag so the ending felt abrupt. I'll give this a mild nominatioon because there was some good stuff but the quick ending never gave the crowd a chance to really pick the match up and the Bruise Bros. had some lackluster stretches.

RNR Express vs. Cash & Dream Machine (11/7/83) (EXTRA as lead-in)

- Agree with Kris that this is more about hurting Ricky's dad than a match.

Austin Idol vs. Stan Hansen (9/12/83)

- Fast and furious but ended way too soon

Austin Idol vs. Stan Hansen (9/19/83)

- Another fun, short match. These two should be lead-ins along with the Hansen promos to the Bullrope match.

Austin Idol vs. Stan Hansen (Bullrope Match) (10/3/83)

- Yep, this goes on the block. Great stiff shots, good use of the giommick, and great drama at the end. The reverse decision sucks but easy nomination.

Austin Idol vs. Stan Hansen (Bunkhouse Match) (10/10/83)

- Damn, Hansen wrestles in his chaps. Anyway, I have to disagree strongly with Kris here. I thought this maight have been the weakest of the four matches. For a bunkhouse match, they didn't really beat the fuck out of each other. They teased some stuff but it was done better in the bunkhouse match. The ref and Eddie Marlin spots were needless and the finish was unsatisfying. Bad end to the feud.

The Fabulous Ones vs. The Moondogs (6/13/83)

- I was wrong to nominate this as a match before. Hellacious brawl after the match but this is not a nominated match but a SLAM DUNK EXTRA. Hell, the match didn't even start because the Moondogs laid out the ref.
