Lynch Memphis 8.1

Jim Neidhart vs. Austin Idol (6/11/84)

- Neidhart should stick to tags and Idol isn't the guy to carry him.

Jerry Lawler vs. Lord Humongous (5/21/84)

- Lawler rips off the hockey mask but Humongous had another mask underneath. Lawler wins quickly after leveling him wiht a chair.

Terry Taylor vs. Sabu (5/21/84)

- This was a pretty decent match that ended with Samoa throwing Taylor over the top rope.

Rick Rude vs. Dutch Mantel (5/84)

- This was ok until the end when it got pretty hot. Rude tried winning by popping Dutch with a can of hairspray but Dutch kicked out. He was then handed a chain and got the pin. Nothing really stood out until the end so no vote from me.

Randy Savage vs. Austin Idol (5/84)

- Early on, it is all Savage. He is just kicking Idol's ass. Idol no-sells some punches to make a comeback but he starts punching the hell out of Savage. And in a shock of shocks, after 5 minutes, Idol reverses an atomic drop into a figure-4 and Savage loses the match. Damn, that was unexpected.

Randy Savage vs. Jerry Lawler (Cage match)

- This match has one of those cages that are a couple of feet away from the ring so there isn't as much cage interaction as I would like. Overall, I think I liked the Garvin cage match better but this one had some great moments. The elbow off the top of the cage only for Lawler to move looked like it was the end of the match. Lawler then goes to the top turnbuckle and teases a leap form the cage but just does a body splash from the turnbuckle instead. The ending was a disappointment when LeDuc interfered but there was enough good stuff here to make this an easy nomination. This is a complete version even with commercial breaks and is VG VQ so we should probably use this version.

Jerry Lawler vs. Rick Rude (6/11/84)

- Rude wins the title from Lawler in this match. This was fun but felt more like a RAW main event from 1998 where you get a title change and more angle than match. After the match, the New Fabs come in and attack Rude and Neidhart.

Randy Savage & Lanny Poffo vs. Jerry Lawler & Jimmy Valiant (Incomplete)

- Do we have this complete somewhere?

Jim Neidhart vs. Austin Idol

Both wrestlers are limited and it shows here.

Jerry Lawler vs. Lord Humongous

Too short to make an impact.

Terry Taylor vs. Sabu

This was a so/so match. Their was some awkwardness in it.

Rick Rude vs. Dutch Mantel

This wasn't bad. I was more interested in what the 2nds were doing.

Randy Savage vs. Austin Idol

This was a tremendous match that has been discussed elsewhere.

Randy Savage vs. Jerry Lawler (Cage match)

Another awesome match that is discussed in the matches folder.

Jerry Lawler vs. Rick Rude

This is JIP and not enough shown.

Randy Savage & Lanny Poffo vs. Jerry Lawler & Jimmy Valiant

What was shown was awesome. The heels were showing some major ass here. It was a lot of MX there. Lawler was great here as the FIP. The heels were building the heat wonderfully until it was cut off.
