Posted March 3, 200817 yr comment_5428969 March 1989 TV: Reibun Amada at home AJW Tag Team titles: Honey Wings vs. Miori Kamiya (Cooga) & Reibun Amada - Too short to be memorable. May 1989 TV – WrestleMarinepiad: Wrestlers training Dream Orca (Mita/Yamada) vs. Tokyo Sweethearts (Shimoda/Toyota) - Short but good. Toyota displayed some nice armwork on Yamada early, then bounced around like a pinball as Mita and Yamada hit her with some pretty nasty strikes. Toyota won abruptly with a German. Not enough here for a nomination. Crush Girls sing several times Slam Patrol (Tiffany & Texas) promo – GLOW invades AJW~ Crush Girls vs. Mitsuko Nishiwaki & Akira Hokuto (Chigusa retirement) - Not much of a match but an emotional scene that would make a good extra. Two rings, dual matches: Itsuki Yamazaki vs. Noriyo Tateno; Yumi Ogura vs. Bull Nakano - Why they considered this a good concept is beyond me. As you might imagine, neither match benefited from the chaos of having both going on at the same time. JWP Handheld: Esther Moreno & Rumi Kazama vs. Estela Molina & Dirty Yamato (clips) - This is weirdly interspersed with the AJW battle royal footage. Some of it looks decent but who the hell knows really. May 1989 TV: Big Bad Mama, The Beastie & Leilani Kai promo 2 Ring International Battle Royal - Clusterfuck. Madusa and Nick Bockwinkel interviews Madusa vs. Lioness Asuka (ref Nick Bockwinkel) - Madusa really played the ugly American here, even calling Asuka a slimy Jap at one point. Asuka appeared to knock herself loopy when she dropped Madusa on her own face during an attempted German. I don't know if that led to a change of plans, but Madusa controlled most of the match with fairly bland offense. Asuka then won out of nowhere with a moonsault. No nomination.
