Jerry Lawler vs. Kamala Clip Jerry Lawler vs. Randy Savage - If you are a fan of both guys then you will love this match. I imagine that there will be some complaining about the fact that it took 5 minutes of match time before they actually hooked up. Still, you gotta love the Savage-Lawler punching contests because both guys throw nice punches. Nice ending as it looked like either guy could have won it 2 or 3 times before Lawler finally gets the pin. Easy nomination. Jerry Lawler vs. Rick Martel - The arena looks really small but the crowd is fired up. When Lawler is in control, it is all about punching Martel in the face. When Martel controls, it is a story of how many ways can he destroy Lawler's leg. It also helps that LAwler's boots look like they are made of rubber so when Martel twists the foot, it looks more painful than it probably was. Lawler uses his boot to get the pin but ends up disqualified instead. THe end was pretty hot even though the result sucked. Another nomination. May 24, 200817 yr comment_5431517 The Lawler music videos on this are definite extras. This starts with highlights of a Lawler/Kamala match from MSC in 1982. Southern Heavyweight Title vs. Mid-America Heavyweight Title: Jerry “The King” Lawler © vs. “Macho Man” Randy Savage © (4/9/84) This is from Rupp Arena in Lexington, Kentucky which was homebase for the defunct ICW so that makes this match even more important. This has a slow start where they work more on the mat but it’s good stuff and the heat in the building is very hot considering the significance of this matchup in this city. It would soon break down though with the action going to the floor thus getting Angelo Poffo involved along with Savage hitting his top rope offense to the floor not once but twice. Lawler would start making his comeback on the floor with a cup of beer in the face of Savage and soon enough the punches would start flying. There would be more back and forth battling in and out of the ring and this is great stuff as both men leave it all out there. The strap would come down and it heated up even more as Savage would piledriver Lawler behind the ref’s back and Lawler got a schoolboy for the win. Definite nomination. AWA World Heavyweight Title: Rick Martel © vs. Jerry “The King” Lawler (10/12/85) This is a rare match from Nashville and it’s funny watching Martel work heel here. Lawler starts quickly trying to get pins and just working on Martel but Rick would soon get the advantage by working on Lawler’s left leg. Martel just wrenches away on the leg before putting him in the figure-four but Lawler would grab the ropes. Martel continues his attack on the leg by going for the figure-four again but Lawler keeps fighting back. Lawler would make a comeback by using his great punches but Martel just keeps going working on the leg. Lawler would have enough of this though and dropped the strap before firing off the punches then two diving fistdrops off the middle rope. Lawler is feeling it as he just unloads with punches until Martel would throw him into Jerry Calhoun. Martel uses a boot to KO Lawler but Calhoun is still out. Lawler would pick up the boot and nailed Martel that would get him DQed. The finish was crap but this was still a very solid match and a nomination.
