Posted March 4, 200817 yr comment_5429003 The Fabulous Ones vs. Bobby Eaton & Duke Myers (Hair vs. Titles) (5/16/83) - I didn't really get a squash vibe from this match. Eaton and Myers controlled the first 5 minutes and when Keirn got the tag, then Myers became a punching bag. And damn, was he being abused. You just see his head beomcing redder and redder over time and the Stan Lane headbutts couldn't have helped. The big ending and unexpected result made this match a keeper for me. Nomination.
March 4, 200817 yr comment_5429007 I got a kick out of the role reversals. Duke Myers was the FIP while the Fabs beat the crap out of him.
March 4, 200817 yr comment_5429008 Fabs vs. Eaton/Duke Myers Jim cornette's hair is at stake. Eaton and Duke with some quick tags. We have the heels in control in the earlier part of the match. Duke is busted open and the Fabs go after the cut. The Fabs punch, bite, kick, and elbow Myer's cut. I'm digging this match because the teams switch roles. The Fabs look like the heels while Duke Myers is the FIP. The ref stops the match. Eddie Marlin restarts the match because of the stip. The Fabs go to cover after high impact moves and Eaton makes at least 4 saves. The Fabs have this neat double team move where one of them get on all 4's while the other Fab runs on his back and delivers a forearm smash to his opponent. Hart interferes and Duke Myers gets the pin. I feel this is a nomination but I'm not going to nominate it. The heels are just killed throughout.

March 4, 200817 yr comment_5429029 Southern Tag Titles vs. Jim Cornette’s Hair: The Fabulous Ones (Steve Keirn & Stan Lane) © vs. “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton & Duke Myers (5/16/83) Fabs really work on Duke early here causing him to juice heavily and Paul Morton is checking the cut but keeps the match going although the Fabs are just destroying him. Eaton tries to help but they punish him too. Paul Morton has had enough and he decides to stop the match which infuriates Cornette who demands that Eddie Marlin come out. Marlin decides to restart the match due to his importance so the Fabs immediately go back to work on Duke trying to pin him but Eaton stops it everytime. Keirn finally gets a pin on Duke but Morton is with Lane/Hart so Eaton climbs up top and Cornette throws him a title belt with him dropping on Keirn. Duke rolls on Keirn to win the match. This was wild stuff but basically as big of a squash as you will see except for the end.
March 26, 200817 yr comment_5429940 I am going to go ahead and vote Yes tentatively here. It was about as one sided as you are going to get, but the Memphisiness of the whole thing, the cool restart, the crazy Eaton bump and the neat screw job. Enjoyed it too much to not vote yes.
