Jerry “The King” Lawler vs. The Nightmare (Danny Davis) (10/20/84) Fun match with Lawler taking shots at Hart and Nightmare getting thrown into the corner and taking a full Jerry bump to the floor which looked like it hurt. Nightmare would come back and got some offense in but Lawler would soon drop the strap firing shots until Hart tripped him up for the DQ. Nightmare would hit Hart by accident before the other Nightmare would come out to corner Lawler but he would work his way out. Next we get highlights of the Roadies vs. Bundy/Rude from MSC on 10/15/84 which starts the dissention between Rude & First Family. (10/20/84) Lanny Poffo comes out in full armor talking shit on Hot Stuff and that would bring Gilbert out who would put up his title against Poffo on TV. International Heavyweight Title: “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert © vs. “Leaping” Lanny Poffo (10/20/84) Gilbert is working this in street clothes meaning a 80’s airbrushed jersey shit and black leather pants that Eddie said cost $150. They had a fun little match that included a great spot where Poffo tried to slingshot Gilbert back in the ring as he was on the apron but Gilbert reversed and slingshot Poffo to the floor. Gilbert then gave him a bodyslam on the floor followed up by a beale. Gilbert would soon follow with an atomic drop on a sitting steel chair. Gilbert would miss a diving elbow drop giving Lanny the chance he needed and he went on the offense hitting a moonsault but Calhoun was occupied with Jimmy Hart so Gilbert threw Poffo over the top rope but he skinned the cat and knocked Gilbert into Calhoun. Poffo then got the O’Connor Roll with a bridge but Hart would jab his cane into his chest leading to Gilbert putting him in the figure-four. Savage would then run out and chunked Gilbert out of the ring for the DQ. I tell you what this was a lot of fun and I’m throwing this on the block. The Dirty White Boys (Tony Anthony & Len Denton) vs. Jerry Bryant & Rufus R. Jones (10/20/84) DWB’s injure Bryant so Lawler & Savage come out and Lawler wants to take Bryant’s place but Calhoun won’t let him so he comes in anyway. Lawler starts cleaning house but Hart grabs his leg causing the tide to turn until Savage comes in going nuts. The faces would clean house on DWB’s and this was fun stuff. The rest is also stuff I’ve already seen.
March 10, 200817 yr comment_5429255 Disc 2 Dutch Mantel Interview; Tommy Rich Interview (Breakup Interviews) (Extra) Wimpbusters Music Video (EXTRA) Randy Savage & Jimmy Valiant Promo (Surreal) Eddie Gilbert vs Johnny Wilhoit (End only) Lanny Poffo Muisc Video as Knight (Extra) Randy Savage vs Kurt Von Hess - Savage wins in a minute. Len Denton/Tony Anthony vs. Randy Savage/Mark Batten - First fall was a nice little TV tag when Batten was eventually put away. PRetty decent action on its own right. The 2nd fall was underway and Savage continues to save Batten. hart throws in a chair and Savage is blasted for the DQ. Man, the beatdown after the match was pretty sweet. I thin this should be a nomination as a solid TV match with nice post-match beatdown. Jerry Lawler vs Nightmare #1 - After the match, The Nightmare accidentally hits Hart with a double axe handle. In the ring, both Nightmares double punch Hart in a comedy of errors. Road Warriors vs King Kong Bundy & Rick Rude Arena Clip Lanny Poffo Interview; Eddie Gilbert Interview / Eddie Gilbert vs. Lanny Poffo - Really hot 7 minute match with a great back and forth ending. I think this should go on as a low-end nomination as a chance to see Poffo and Gilbert in action. Man, if only we could get a 15 minute arena match out of these two. Len Denton/Tony Anthony vs Rufus R Jones/Jerry Bryant - Nothing to see here except the post-match. Rufus Jones Interview w/ Korchenko Promo Bundy & Hart Promo Steve Keirn/Stan Lane vs King Kong Bundy/Rick Rude Arena Clip - Bundy & Rude break-up Rick Rude Home Promo Tommy & Eddie Gilbert vs Mark Batten/? - Tommy and Eddie make quick work of these guys. Eddie Gilbert vs. Lanny Poffo (Arena Clip) - Not quite what I was looking for.
