Posted March 8, 200817 yr comment_5429157 The Fabulous Ones vs. The Road Warriors (7/23/84) - Classic match of strength vs. speed. I think I am in a good mood because this was as good of an early Roadies match as I have ever seen. They actually allowed the Fabs to get in some offense, to get the crowd at insane noise levels and when the Fabs frustrated the Roadies with their double teaming, Animal takes Keirn down to the mat to slow the pace down. Then, when Animal makes the tag, Steve slips out of his grip and out of the rin, again showing his speed and smarts. Shortly after, Lane is caught playing FIP and this segment was entertaining as hell and just great tag team wrestling. In the end, Animal gets DQed for shoving the ref but this was about the best match I think the Roadies could have wrestled in 1984. Nomination.
May 1, 200817 yr comment_5431008 I think you were in a good mood, this match had a bunch of heat, but they blew a bunch of spots, Roadies really looked like shit here. I didn't like this as much as Idol/Lawler v. Road Warriors and no one is nominating that.
August 3, 200817 yr comment_5433559 The Fabulous Ones (Steve Keirn & Stan Lane) vs. The Road Warriors (Animal & Hawk) (7/23/84) I'm in the middle here as I liked this more than Phil but not as much as Will. Fabs were great here especially Lane as the FIP but the Roadies weren't as dominant as usual when on offense. The DQ finish didn't help the cause but the post match was pretty fun. I'll say no on a nomination but it didn't miss by a whole lot.
