March 11, 200817 yr comment_5429326 Lawler comes out talking about his vow to retire if he doesn’t win the world title in 1985 and says that he is going back on his vow. (12/14/85) Next we get highlights of Freedom Fighters (Steve Borden & Jim Hellwig) vs. Hickerson/Koko from MSC on 12/9/85 and a live promo with their manager Buddy Wayne. Rick Casey (Wendell Cooley) comes out and talks about Dutch Mantell not being from Texas so that starts an impromptu match with Casey getting his ass kicked by Dutch & Dundee. This is extra material. (12/14/85) Santa Koko comes out giving stuff to the fans then does an interview before being attacked by Dundee who rolls pennies to the fans then nails Koko with the bag. The Sheepherders (Boyd & Morgan) & Tarras Bulba attack the Fantastics during a match with Tom Prichard & Pat Rose then the Fants get revenge. (12/14/85) Pat Rose talks about Tom Prichard & Sherri Martel leaving him high and dry. (12/21/85) Rick Casey vs. Tony Falk (12/21/85) Falk comes out before the match saying that he will get his 1st win today and he loses in 10 seconds. Falk wants another shot and gets pinned again in 16 seconds. Falk comes out in a bit wanting another match and gets one. Tracy Smothers vs. Tony Falk (12/21/85) Falk loses again but dominates most of the match. Jerry “The King†Lawler vs. Tony Falk (12/28/85) Falk loses yet again and I’m with Will as this should be one big extra. Next we get the buildup to the big LLT match with Lawler/Dundee on 12/30/85 at MSC and this is all definite extra material. Keirn comes out and says that he wants Dundee anytime anywhere. (1/4/86) The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) vs. Tony Falk & “Dirty†Dutch Mantell (1/4/86) This is clipped up and Falk ends up losing again as Casey goes after Dutch. Dundee brings out the heels for a huge party featuring the debut of Buddy Landell who gave up his National Heavyweight Title to show up in Memphis for this taping. This is a definite extra. (1/4/86) “Superstar†Bill Dundee vs. Jerry Garmon (1/4/86) Dundee wins in seconds then brawls with Big Red after the match. Their match at MSC drew horrid numbers. Rick Casey (Wendell Cooley) vs. Tony Falk (1/4/86) Falk loses yet again. They show highlights of Dundee/Big Red from MSC on 1/6/86 with Dundee/Dutch/Landell doing commentary. The empty seats are visible. The Dream Date Contests with The Fantastics & Buddy Landell are up next and this is extra material. (1/11/86) The Sheepherders & Tarras Bulba attack the Fantastics after they defeated Tony Falk & Pat Rose after Buddy Landell confronts them first. This is fabulous and a definite extra. (1/18/86) The Fantastics (Bobby Fulton & Tommy Rogers) vs. Keith Eric & Tony Falk (1/25/86) Falk loses in seconds. They show highlights of Casey/Koko vs. Sheeps at MSC on 1/20/86. Dundee tried to get Memphis to quit selling Lawler videos but was overruled in court. This is great and a definite extra. Dundee’s lawyer being Dennis Corraluzzo is fantastic. (1/25/86) Next we get highlights of Landell beating Koko for the Mid-America Title on 1/21/86. Landell cuts a great promo about Dirty Rhodes but when he shows up, he has a phone call to attend to. (2/1/86) The Fantastics are out and get attacked by Bill Dundee & Abdul Ghadaffi (The Libyan) and this was a great brawl. (2/1/86) The Spoiler unmasks as Frank Morrell and brings out Billy Travis as his protégé. Tony Falk & Pat Rose then come out to confront them and a brawl breaks out. This is extra material. (2/1/86) Next we get an Austin Idol video to The Kid Is Hot Tonight by Loverboy. Lawler sends in a video telling them what he has been up to since he left Memphis. Definite extra. (2/15/86) Next we get interviews for the Thunderdome match. (2/15/86) “Universal Heartthrob†Austin Idol vs. Tony Falk (2/15/86) Yet another loss for Falk. Landell comes out and does commentary then Idol would confront Landell after his match with Landell being put in the Las Vegas Leglock until Dundee clocks Idol with a steel chair. Extra material. Louisville local news does a wrestling segment. Landell comes out showing a photo of him holding the NWA World Heavyweight Title belt after he “beat†him thus making him the uncrowned champion. Great stuff. (2/22/86) Jerry Jarrett sends in a promo announcing that he would retire and that his son Jeff will be making his debut in the ring soon. This is a great promo and a definite extra. (2/22/86) We get the debut promo of JD Costello with The Mod Squad and this is good stuff. Costello is really a Cornette knockoff. (2/22/86) We get more Thunderdome hype this time from the heels then they show the old LeDuc video. Next we get highlights of Casey/Dutch from MSC on 2/17/86 with Landell costing Dutch the match. Dundee tries to keep the peace after the match and then they turn on him in the studio. This is a slam dunk extra. “Nature Boy†Buddy Landell vs. Billy Travis (2/22/86) Landell takes Dutch’s place and of course Dutch comes back out and brawls with Landell. Extra material. Eddie Marlin interviews Dutch at home and this is simply fantastic. Definite extra. (3/1/86) Dundee & Landell destroy Jeff Jarrett who was refereeing their match against Jim Jameson & David Johnson. Dave & Lance would even get up to try and stop them from destroying Jeff & Jerry Jarrett. This is a slam dunk extra. (3/1/86) Jerry Jarrett comes out crying about his eye and them beating on his son which brings out Marlin & Dutch to get Lawler on the phone to set up Lawler’s return to Memphis. Grand slam extra material here. (3/1/86) Frank Morrell & Billy Travis cut a promo on the farm and this is hilarious in a bad way. It was so bad you can hear Lance saying sarcastically saying “that was a stirring interview.†(3/1/86) Lawler sends in a taped promo about the current situation and it’s great. (3/8/86) We get more goodness with Morrell & Travis in the park. (3/8/86) Jeff Jarrett sends in an interview from home about the current situation and this is great. (3/15/86) JD Costello comes out and puts up $3,000 in gold coins up against The Fantastics for their Southern Tag Titles and the Fants accept.
