The MOD Squad vs. Paul Diamond & Pat Tanaka

- Really nice tag match here with D&T bringing the high-end offense including a sweet clothesline by Diamond. Tanaka looks like he has the pin but Costello hits him over the head with the rule book and gets pinned. I have seen so many interviews and angles over the last few hours I am tempted to nominate this but I'll hold off until I watch a bunch of matches to compare it with.

I'm not sure, but Memphis TV Highlights (Louisville Feed) 3/5-5/3/86 DVD #1 & #2 might be the same stuff in better quality. At the very least there's a bunch of overlap.

We get a promo by Dirty Rhodes with him playing the guitar telling his life story and this is a definite extra. LeDuc then comes out and talks about Dirty’s situation. (3/22/86)

Bill & Buddy do their own interview because Lance won’t interview them until they provoke Lance to come over there. Lance then gets slapped by Dundee but they get chased off by Lawler & Dutch. Definite extra.

Tony is on his way to victory but falls off the top rope and gets pinned. Another one for the Falk file in the extras.

Yet another loss for Tony even though he stays at the desk talking to Lance. Lawler comes back out and tells Falk that he will get Jarrett at MSC on Monday.

Tony Falk comes out and whines about going to a draw with Jarrett then Bill & Buddy say that it was Marlin’s fault that the bell rung early. Dutch & Travis then run them off so they can’t interfere. (4/12/86)

This is Jeff’s TV debut and this is a definite extra as he wins the match and gets destroyed by Bill & Buddy as Falk, Ghaddafi, & Pat Rose hold the door shut but LeDuc makes the save. LeDuc then cuts an awesome promo.

 

Bill & Buddy introduce a video of Lawler vs. Falk at MSC on 4/14/86 and bash Lawler so Lawler comes out and shows the true video of what happened. Another extra. (4/19/86)

 

The Mod Squad (Basher & Spike) vs. David Haskins & Frank Morrell (4/19/86)

 

Falk accompanies the Squad to the ring saying that JD Costello’s mother died and that he is filling in. Morrell juices from a chain and Falk runs in for the DQ.

 

Falk then comes back out with Khaddafi and Billy Travis jumps them but the numbers game wins out until Dutchman makes the save. (4/19/86)

JD Costello comes out and introduces Tony Falk, Abdul Ghaddafi, & Pat Rose as the newest members of his Dynasty. then talks about the money he got from his dead mother and offers it to Dutch Mantell to join the Dynasty. Dutch comes out and takes the money with him angering Costello. Costello come back out and jumps in the ring demanding to face Dutch then gets chased around the ring until the Dynasty jumps him. Costello comes out and this time invites Lawler to join the Dynasty offering him $100,000. Lawler then cuts a fucking awesome promo about the history of Sam Bass & Jimmy Hart. Costello then slaps Lawler with Lawler chasing him in the ring stripping his clothes off and JD wearing a garter belt with panties. Fucking awesome and a slam dunk extra. (5/3/86)

The future Badd Company looks really good here. Costello would jump in the ring and nailed Tanaka with the rule book to cause him to get pinned. This was a good match but I’m not sure of a nomination.

 

International Heavyweight Title: Billy Travis © vs. “Hustler” Rip Rogers (5/3/86)

 

After a ref bump, Rogers would take off Jerry Calhoun’s belt and used it on Travis to get DQed.

 

Dundee & Landell are cutting a promo when interrupted by a brawl in the hall between Lawler/Dutch vs. Mod Squad and it takes the locker room to pull them apart. (5/3/86)

 

Eddie Marlin comes out and talks about how he is taking offers for referees and Frank Morrell wants to take Marlin up on his offer. (5/10/86)

 

Bill Dundee comes out to talk about how he & Buddy Landell broke up their team and they showed video of the match from MSC on 5/12/86 then Landell comes out for his retort and this is all definite extra material. (5/17/86)

Falk wrestles in a bikini and gets his first win in it. So great and a definite extra.

Ok, maybe my guess about the dupe was wrong, but I think there still may be some repeated material in better quality on the above mentioned DVDs I made from an original that I borrowed from Brian.

 

And if it's all from the loop (Evansville/Louisville/Nashville/etc. non-WMC), we should be have just about all of it in better VQ from Trent.

That may be but wha twill really help is when the guys who go through the discs label stuff they see a 2nd time as an extra on a new disc wit hbetter VQ so I can know to compare different discs.

With Kris providing dates, for '86-'89 we can then note the date of anything considered for conclusion and consult the relevant Trent disc (remember, Evansville aired the show a week after it aired live in Memphis).

You have all of this stuff on Evansville discs too, in very good VQ
