Travis gets rammed into the post and does a man sized blade job early, Jaggers works over the cut until Billy makes a come back including a nasty second rope kneedrop. Billy thinks he won, gets caught with a Jaggers lariet. Not a long match, and not a high end nomination, but the blood and the rare 87 MSC match makes this a nom. CWA 10/25-10/31/87
May 5, 200817 yr comment_5431059 Southern Heavyweight Title Tournament – Finals: “Hangman” Bobby Jaggers vs. Billy Travis (10/19/87) Jaggers would post Travis early in the match and he pops a gusher with the blood streaming down his face as Jaggers works on the cut relentlessly. Jaggers tries to put Travis away many times but Travis kicks out of every pin attempt. Jaggers would eventually get the best of Travis and won the vacant title. As far as a nomination goes I’m on the border but this would compare to the Hickerson match because they were very similar but the Hickerson match was better than this one.
August 4, 200817 yr comment_5433587 I agree with Kris. The Hickerson match was better with more brawling. There is tons of blood on this set so this match doesn't get bonus points for that. Travis took a nice dive out of the ring early on but Jaggers is pretty pedestrian. No vote.
