Posted March 17, 200817 yr comment_5429531 All Japan Classics 17 + 18 Classics 17 Jaguar Yokota vs. Pantera Surena - 2/3 Falls for the WWWA Title (5/12/85, Mexico City) - Pantera is backed by a Villano and Jaguar has Hamada in her corner. They keep it on the mat early on and I am enjoying it but the Mexicans could care less. This first fall is frustrating to watch because they are tearing it up and getting zero response. Eventually, Pantera hits a hurrancanrana to take the first fall and the crowd comes alive shortly. The 2nd fall is frustrating as they were about to tel la story with Jaguar’s knee but they go away form it and Pantera treats a Jaguar Figure-4 like it was a damn chinlock. Even her submission was weak. It was the strangest thing to watch. The 3rd fall was weird as the crowd broke huge for the highspots in between long moments of silence. Jaguar eventually wins with the double-underhook piledriver but all of the goodwill they built up in the 1st fall left and I have no intentions of nominating this one. Singing...(4/27/89) - Can someone tell me who this is singing? I don’t think it is the Crush Gals. Classics 18 Bull Nakano & Aja Kong vs. Toshiyo Yamada & Etsuko Mita (4/27/89) - Nakano & Kong take turns abusing the other team and it almost feels like an extended squash. However, there are some hope spots including a cool spot where Bull goes for a palm strike but Yamada ducks it and drops Bull in an armbar. Bulll uses the nunchuks and follows with a Northern Lights suplex to end the match. This was some nice action but I can’t see myself nominating it considering how many awesome matches will be on this set. Noriyo Tateno vs. Mitsuko Nishiwaki (4/27/89) - Damn, Noriyo is bringing the pain in this one. First, she puts Nishiwaki in this great surfboard stretch maneuver that looked great. Later on, she steps on Nishiwaki’s hand as she stomps on her forearm. Then she sticks her in this armbar crucifix. After being abused most of the match, Mitsuko fights back and drops Tateno with a powerbomb that allows her to take control. Towards the stretch run, Mitsuko goes to the top, is headed off by Tateno who attempts a superplex but is pushed off. As she recovers, Mitsuko attempts a missile dropkick but Tateno casually steps to the side, rolls her over and attempts a cool pin maneuver thingamabob for a nearfall. A few seconds later, they exchange roll-ups with Tateno coming out on top. This was fun as hell and I’ll nominate it just so you guys will check it out but I don’t expect it to get very far. All Pacific Champion Yumi Ikeshita vs. Mimi Hagiwara (Hagiwara wins title, 2/25/81) - This was over in a flash. It also seemed really slow after that last match. WWWA Tag Team Champions Nancy Kumi & Ayumi Hori vs. Yukari Ohmori & Mimi Hagiwara (clipped, Ohmori & Hagiwara win titles, 11/9/81) - Just a clip
