1/5 (taped 12/29) has a fun Lawler-Gilbert confrontation that could be an extra (especially as part of a feature on their feud), a Louisville Sluggers (Steve Constance & Tim Ashley) music video (possible extra as we really should compare and contrast all of the blowjob team videos) and a good match that I'm gonna nominate:

 

The Nightmares vs The Batten Twins

 

Quality tag match with a hot studio crowd. The Nightmares have some cool doubleteams, including a nasty splash onto a Batten whose throat is over the top rope. Ken Wayne also has some great headbutts. Battens sold well, too. Finish sucked but it a was good enough match to throw on the block and now I'm much more curious to see their match from a week earlier (which Phil nominated).

 

1/12 (taped 1/5) already had the WMC version posted about by Phil. No matches of note but Jerry Lawler: This Is Your Life is a must-have extra and this might be the best copy we have. It has a few breakups but I think the clarity of the picture is better than WMC 1/5. The Lawler video set to "The Warrior" by Scandal is here and another possible extra.

Eddie Gilbert comes out whining about losing the International title to Terry Taylor at MSC on 12/28/84 because of Lawler and he cuts a vicious promo on him. (12/29/84)

Lawler kills Hutchinson until Gilbert runs in. Fun stuff.

Iron Mike Sharpe vs. Johnny Wilhoit (12/29/84)

 

Sharpe KO’s Wilhoit with the brace so Valiant comes out complaining and he gets hit as well. Sharpe pounds Valiant bloody until Lawler runs him off.

 

Next is another in the long line of gay videos this time featuring the Louisville Sluggers set to Look Out For Number One by Tommy Faragher. This song is so fucking great. Definite extra.

 

Handsome Jimmy Valiant vs. “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert (12/29/84)

 

Gilbert immediately goes for the cut on Valiant’s head but Valiant fights back until Sharpe runs in for the DQ. Lawler would then come out but would get jumped by the Nightmares until the Sluggers run out setting off a wild brawl.

 

The Nightmares (Danny Davis & Ken Wayne) vs. Bart & Brad Batten (12/29/84)

 

This was fine southern tag wrestling as you had chickenshit heel stooging, twin brother switching, great punches, illegal double teams, and good fast paced action. The match would be stopped by Jerry Calhoun as the teams wouldn’t quit fighting. Very fun stuff and it should move forward.

 

The Gordon Solie experiment is over and Dave Brown is back on commentary.

Gilbert destroys him.

 

Then we get clips of Terry Taylor/Eddie Gilbert from MSC on 12/28/84.

Then we get the Lawler video to Warrior showing him beat all the WWF top guys.

Owens comes back out with a new partner to face the Nightmares and it’s Lawler. Nightmares are pissed but they come in the ring for a little bit before time would run out.
