This is the last 16:30 of what's billed as a 31 minute match. Absolutely incredible performance by Savage, leading the inoffensive but completely generic Oski to an awesome dominant champion vs underdog challenger match. Best one-man show on the set so far with Savage looking as good as I've ever seen him, plus the crowd was really hot, too. If it's really just the last half (it's joined during the feeling-out portion), then I understand if it doesn't get a nomination, but if that happens, it has to be an extra as a memorable match along w/ the other matches that will be extras due to clipping issues like Lawler/Mantell-Bill/Buddy TX death.

Southern Heavyweight Title: “Macho Man” Randy Savage © vs. Jerry Oske (5/7/85)

This is from Louisville and is JIP at 14 minutes in. Bix talked about Savage putting on a great one-man show which he does but Oske isn’t no scrub here either as he works hard and hangs with the awesome Savage. The action is non-stop both in and out of the ring with a very hot crowd and Savage acting like a madman jumping all over the place. Oske is great here as the scrappy underdog having to fight both Savage & Tux Newman and the last 5 minutes of this match was really really fun. Savage then beats the hell out of Oske after the match and even though this is clipped this is longer than most of the matches nominated. Definite nomination.

Randy Savage vs. Jerry Oski, 5/7/85 Louisville Gardens (Arena TV 5/19)

- Man, good stuff here but I don’t care that the clip is longer than most matches. The fact we are missing half the match really bothers me. If it was 5-7 minutes, I would be ok with it but damn, I really hate “rating” clips of matches. WTF happened in that first 15 minutes? Would that have made the match a higher ranking or lowered it. We’ll never know so I vote no.

I am torn about this, part of me agrees with Will, but fuck was this awesome, Oski doesn't do much but bump to the floor and sunset flip, but Savage is incredible with crazy dives to the floor and bumping and ass kicking. This really feels like a complete match even though we missed a bunch so I am going to vote yes, but with reservations

Yeah, Savage is amazing. It makes me wonder what would have happened if the NWA picked him up instead of the WWF.

Anyway, at the beginning of this project, something like this would have been a yes for me but the fact that we have so many awesome complete matches really makes me question putting half a match on. We have plenty of Savage that displays his awesomeness, we will probably have a Jerry Oski match on, and I don't think this is something people will be beating down the door if it gets thrown in the extras. It reminds me of the Sawyer-Duggan match I threw on the Mid South extras. That was one awesome clip (like this one) but we didn't put that through on that set.
