DVD that I just converted from one of Dan's tapes and will send to Will soon.

 

Not a terribly eventful show, but well-paced, entertaining one. The Lawler-Brody dueling promos (and Brody music video) were fun and if there's anything from Brody that comes close to worthy of inclusion, it would be this stuff as extra material. Mister Kareem Muhammad has a quality interview where he shows off his masked mystery partner that could work as an extra leading into the Kareem Muhammad Show. Hell, we should have every Mister Kareem Muhammad promo together as one big extra. Randy Savage has a quality squash of Tracy Smothers where he flies all over the studio with nasty elbows and cuts a good promo after the commercial break, and the expiration of time match was yet another Poffo brother vs Jerry Oski match I liked for some reason.

 

Lanny Poffo vs Jerry Oski

 

This was better than their MSC match at the aborted ESPN pilot taping, as it gets a ton of time for a studio singles match (something like 14 minutes) and I really liked it. Lots of cool counters based around Poffo's flexibility which make you really buy that he can blow himself at will. I dig Oski as an inoffensive guy that better wrestlers can build around like the matches I've nominated and the match in WCCW at the Will Rogers Coliseum as Jerry Allen where he sells a great mauling by Abdullah and juices heavily. DQ finish worked well to forward the Savage-Oski feud as Randy comes in and hits a great looking double axehandle out of nowhere on Oski as he has Lanny in an abdominal stretch and they beat him down after the match. I may get hell for the multiple Jerry Oski nominations but I'm standing by them.

Jarrett & Tojo then come out for a promo on the PYT’s and Tojo is hilarious.

Next we get a Bruiser Brody video set to Problem Child by AC/DC followed up with a Brody promo that is great and a Lawler promo that is even greater. Extra material.

 

Mr. Kareem Muhammad then comes out with his masked man and he cuts a great promo on the Fabs.

 

“Macho Man” Randy Savage vs. Tracy Smothers (5/18/85)

 

Smothers has no chance.

 

Savage & Tux Newman then come back out for a promo on Jerry Oske.

 

Jerry Oske vs. Leaping Lanny Poffo (5/18/85)

 

This was a fun match with some good mat wrestling as Oske wasn’t bad and Poffo was slick in his movements. The match went like 15 minutes before Macho would run in for the DQ to attack Oske. Solid match and should move forward.
