Posted March 23, 200817 yr comment_5429763 This was better than their MSC match at the aborted ESPN pilot taping, as it gets a ton of time for a studio singles match (something like 14 minutes) and I really liked it. Lots of cool counters based around Poffo's flexibility which make you really buy that he can blow himself at will. I dig Oski as an inoffensive guy that better wrestlers can build around like the matches I've nominated and the match in WCCW at the Will Rogers Coliseum as Jerry Allen where he sells a great mauling by Abdullah and juices heavily. DQ finish worked well to forward the Savage-Oski feud as Randy comes in and hits a great looking double axehandle out of nowhere on Oski as he has Lanny in an abdominal stretch and they beat him down after the match. I may get hell for the multiple Jerry Oski nominations but I'm standing by them.
July 7, 200817 yr comment_5432700 Jerry Oske vs. Leaping Lanny Poffo (5/18/85) This was a fun match with some good mat wrestling as Oske wasn’t bad and Poffo was slick in his movements. The match went like 15 minutes before Macho would run in for the DQ to attack Oske. Solid match and should move forward.
July 28, 200817 yr comment_5433328 Lanny Poffo vs. Jerry Oski, 5/18/85 WMC Studios (TV 5/18/85 WMC Feed) - Lanny looking like a Killer Bee here. Man, Lanny is just so fluid in this. Poffo just throws limbs in directions I don’t expect. Even when breaking a pin, he briefly teases the head scissors which was pretty cool within the sequence. Poffo’s face/heel game was an added dynamic that gives this match more life. Definitely moves forward.
August 11, 200817 yr comment_5433878 Yeah this was really fun, I think people are going to be really surprised when they see mat wrestling based matches like this, Morton v. King and Rich v. Dundee. There were parts were Oski looked kind of lost, but Poffo was kind of awesome. Move it on
