Posted March 23, 200817 yr comment_5429779 Bill Dundee vs. Wayne Ferris & Tojo Yamamoto (Memphis) - This is a wierd match for me because I didn't really care for the wrestling "action" but loved the story unfold as Dundee kept trying to figure out how he was going to work against two men. HIs punches on Ferris were pretty sweet. Eventually, the heels were too much for Dundee and Tojo got the pin after throwing something in Dundee's eyes. I'll give this a nomination for more discussion but it isn't something I'll go to town for.
April 7, 200817 yr comment_5430514 Rich no showed, so Dundee had to go it alone. I loved this, as Dundee is back on his heels counter wrestling, and even Zybysco stalls as a face move. Tojo really lays it in here, including some nasty kidney shots, Dundee is totally awesome, as I love his one legged dropkick variations. Will was on the fence about this, but I think it goes on for sure.
May 28, 200817 yr comment_5431720 The reason why Tommy Rich wasn't here was because he made his grand return at WTBS Studios jumping the Freebirds. The date is 3/7/81 also. Dundee puts on a great one-man show here as he dominates the early part of the match by getting in offense when he can then taking advantage of it for a while throwing great punches throughout. The numbers game would catch up to Dundee as Tojo lays in the shots when he is in the ring and Ferris keeps up the punishment but Dundee would slide to the floor on occasion to stall and get back his energy in a great spot for this type of match. Dundee fighting both men at the same time was epic stuff and the crowd was going nuts in the studio. I'm with Phil here this definitely goes forward.
August 6, 200817 yr Author comment_5433671 So, I am watching this while converting matches to 4 hour mode and this has been elevated to SLAM DUNK. Seriously, Dundee needs to take a breather so he sits on a chair at ringside with the fans then rolls in quickly to break the count and goes back out for the breather. Genius. I think what we will see more than anything is that Dundee is King of the Studio and Lawler is King of the Arena.
August 6, 200817 yr comment_5433683 Well if you look at it, Lawler didn't have many high profile studio matches while Dundee was always working different top heel opponents throughout the years plus it's Dundee and of course he worked his ass off.
