March 1986 TV:

Kanako Nagatomo & Mika Komatsu feature

Devil Masami & Red Typhoons vs. Dump Matsumoto, Condor Saito & Penny Mitchell - This was clipped in the middle. Dump really went after Masami and the match was solid. But the ending came out of nowhere and didn't really play off of the Dump-Devil tension.

Mika Komatsu vs. Lioness Asuka - This was a perfectly nice technical display from two very accomplished athletes. But it was lacking in the heat and urgency departments. They spent the first 15 minutes on matwork, breaking the flow every so often with solid strike exchanges (leg kicks, head butts, slaps et. al.) But neither really seemed to be going for the win despite the 20-min time limit. Then they took it outside and followed with a near fall sequence. Asuka hit Komatsu with a run of big offense -- suplexes, dropkicks, a pile driver -- and that was that. It was a good enough technical showcase that you guys should take a look, but I won't fight for it come disc making time.

JB Angels vs. Bull Nakano & Megumi Nakamae - This ended very suddenly and was heavily clipped I suspect.

Crush Girls sing

Devil Masami vs. Bull Nakano - Short and rather disappointing considering the participants.

JB Angels vs. Kanako Nagatomo & Mika Komatsu - Nice pace and plenty of state-of-the-art offense, but the JB Angels never seemed in any real jeopardy.

Lioness Asuka & Red Typhoons vs. Dump Matsumoto, Condor Saito & Megumi Nakamae (2/3) - Dump came to the ring dressed as a samurai for some reason (irony?) The first fall was really about her bulk and viciousness against Asuka's athleticism, with Dump winning that round. Second fall was more Typhoons and more boring. Third got back to Dump v. Asuka. Asuka broke a test of strength with three nasty head butts and then hit a vertical suplex on Dump. Chigusa Nagayo brought some nice emotion to the proceedings by rushing in to protect her fellow Crush Girl from weapons attacks. Ultimately, Dump made the mistake of tagging Saito and that gave the faces an opening to hit three straight top-rope kicks for the win. I'll give this a nod as a heated minor chapter in Dump's war with the Crush Girls.

JB Angels vs. Lioness Asuka & Mika Komatsu (2/3) - Asuka dominated whenever she was in, but whenever Komatsu entered, the JB Angels used their superior teamwork to rally. A simple but effective formula for getting all parties over. Falls just short for me, however.

Dump Matsumoto, Condor Saito, Bull Nakano vs. Yukari Omori, Yumi Ogura, ? (2/3) - I had barely heard anything about Omori before this project, but she's pretty great -- big and tough but agile as well. Anyway, an entertaining match but not really listworthy.

Handheld:

Mika Komatsu vs. Machiko Saito - And we're back to the land of poorly framed shots that make it impossible to follow the action. Someone might have the patience for these handhelds. I don't.

Chigusa Nagayo vs. Kanako Nagatomo

Dynamite Girls vs. Itsuki Yamazaki & Devil Masami

Jaguar Yokota vs. Peggy Lee

Lioness Asuka, Yumi Ogura & Noriyo Tateno vs. Dump Matsumoto, Bull Nakano & Crane Yu
