DVD that I just converted from one of Dan's tapes and will send to Will soon.

There were various Lawler & Funk local promos that need to be on the extra discs in going over their feud.

5/16 (Taped 5/9):

Kevin Sullivan winning the TV title from Dutch Mantell was pretty good. I'm not sure about a nomination, I'll rewatch it first.

Onita & Fuchi vs Ware & Sexton was fine but not a nomination. In between the 1st & 2nd falls, they air:

Masa Fuchi & Mr. Onita vs Dutch Mantell & Giant Frazier (5/4/81 Mid-South Coliseum)

This was just a lot of fun with Mantell doing the heavy lifting. I'm digging southern heel Onita & Fuchi a lot. About 5 of 8 minutes I think so I dunno if it should necessarily go through but what the heck.

5/23 (Taped 5/16):

The Phantom vs Koko Ware was fine but nothing special.

Terry Funk running out with his eye bandaged during a Nightmares match and rampaging through the studio is here in its entirety in better quality than our other copy and it's a must-have extra.

Lawler vs Dory is here too, same deal, must-have extra and better quality.

Masa Fuchi & Mr. Onita vs Bill Dundee & Dream Machine (5/16/81 WMC Studios)

Dundee is incredible here and everyone else is very good. Another really good studio tag from this period with the bonus of Dundee looking extra-good. Easy nomination.

CWA TV Title: “Dirty” Dutch Mantell © vs. Kevin Sullivan (5/9/81)

Sullivan embarrassed Dutch on the mat early so Dutch started firing punches sending Sullivan to the floor to regroup. This would turn into a styles clash as Sullivan wanted to keep it on the mat while Dutch tried to roughhouse it but Sullivan flipped the script and threw Dutch to the floor where he would post him then rammed him into the table. Sullivan then starts biting and punching as he kept the pressure on Dutch. Dutch would try to fight back but Sullivan unloaded with some great right hands. Dutch would come back hitting an atomic drop but missed a diving elbow with Sullivan headbutting him into the ropes. Dutch would get a sunset flip though for a nearfall and another one after a missed bodyslam by Sullivan. Sullivan would then hit a beautiful monkey flip before it would turn into a slugfest and Dutch using his straps on his tights to choke Sullivan. Sullivan was trying his best to leave the ring but would throw Dutch into Jimmy Hart on the apron and hit an O’Connor Roll for the win. This was a really fun TV match and a nomination.

Wayne Ferris vs. Tim Leonard (5/9/81)

Squash.

Then we get clips of Ferris/Sullivan vs. Dundee/Dream from MSC on 5/4/81.

2 out of 3 falls: Masa Fuchi & Atsushi Onita vs. Ron Sexton & Koko Ware (5/9/81)

It goes all 3 falls but is pretty much a squash with the Japanese winning 2 and the other going to a draw.

Then we get highlights of Fuchi/Onita vs. Stan Frazier/Dutch from MSC on 5/4/81.

The Phantom vs. Koko Ware (5/16/81)

Phantom looks suspiciously like Sonny King. Koko puts up a great fight but falls in the end.

Dutch comes out and challenges Sullivan to put up the TV title in a rematch next week.

Then we get clips of Dream/Dundee/Rogers vs. Ferris/Sullivan/Hart from MSC on 5/11/81.

The Nightmares (Ted Allen & Danny Davis) vs. Tim Leonard & Rick Winters (5/16/81)

I think Winters would go on to become Boss Winters and this is the debut of the Nightmares on TV. This also has the tremendous Terry Funk angle that is a definite extra.

Then we get highlights of Lawler/Dory from MSC on 5/11/81.

Dream Machine & “Superstar” Bill Dundee vs. Masa Fuchi & Atsushi Onita (5/16/81)

Fuchi & Onita are asskickers early just pounding on Dundee who eats offense for a long time here bumping all over the ring. Dundee then starts trying to fight back and would finally get the hot tag to Dream Machine at the 10:26 mark and he cleans house giving a big slam to Onita but Fuchi hits him with the kendo stick and puts Onita on top for the pin. This was a great performance by Dundee who had no offense but got the hell beat out of him for the entire match and I’ll co-sign a nomination.
