Posted March 28, 200817 yr comment_5430125 All Japan Classics 65 Nick Bockwinkel vs. Billy Robinson (12/11/80) - This was pretty damn great but it had a big clip right in the beginning. I need to find out how long this match is to see how much we missed. If it was only a few minutes, I think this needs to be nominated. If it was half of an hour long draw then I would probably leave it off or look for it on an alternative source. Harley Race & Larry Hennig vs. The Sheik & Mark Lewin (12/11/80) - Watching this match reminds me of a passage I just read in Pain and Passion. The author talks about how Lewin would come into a territory and kill it because of the gratuitous bloodshed and sure enough, both Sheik and Lewin are bleeding about 30 seconds in. This whole thing lasts about 5 minutes before they run through the crowd and the match is thrown out. Giant Baba/Jumbo Tsuruta vs. Tiger Jeet Singh/Umanoseke Ueda (12/11/80) - This was pretty action-packed and might be the first Singh match I nominate. I’ll have to rewatch it before I make my final decision.
August 23, 201015 yr comment_5454867 Nick Bockwinkel vs. Billy Robinson (12/11/80) There is a clip at the beginning so I don't know how much we missed here so I can't fully judge this yet but what was shown was pretty damn good wrestling. Real World Tag League: Larry Hennig & "Mr. Puroresu" Harley Race vs. Maniac Mark Lewin & The Sheik (12/11/81) Okay Sheik & Lewin teaming up is awesome considering their long blood feud and you have the reunion of the Hennig/Race team that ran wild in the AWA in the late 60's. Lewin & Sheik are juicing almost as soon as the bell rings and it isn't long before the referee calls for the bell because he can't control the action. Real World Tag League: Giant Baba & Jumbo Tsuruta vs. Tiger Jeet Singh & Umanoseke Ueda (12/11/81) The heels run through the crowd at Sumo Hall before the match and they run for their lives before The Sheik comes out and we have a brawl with Tiger Jeet & Sheik in the crowd before it gets broken up. This was good for a Tiger Jeet match because there is an actual structure here for a while but it wasn't long before they went to the floor and the brawling started but to their credit the match went back to the ring with Jumbo being pretty great as the fired up babyface but the brawling started back up and Joe Higuchi had no choice to call for the bell. Tiger Jeet would then break out a bucket from under the ring and threw some weird shit on Baba which would bring out Sheik who ran after Tiger Jeet with a metal bar then a big brawl broke out on the floor. This was one of the better Tiger Jeet matches I've seen but I'm not sure on a nomination so I'm leaning no for now.
