Ashura Hara/Rusher Kimura/Goro Tsurumi (10/21/85) - Man, the heat for this match is pretty off the charts for Baba. The opponents bump big for his offense and the crowd is into every chop and boot. When everyone else is in the ring, not so much. If Baba could have fought 1 on 3, I might have considered this. Kabuki v. Killer Khan (10/21/85) - Kabuki jumps Khan before he enters the ring and gets on offense early. Khan spends his time choking Kabuki and using the Oriental Spike. However, just a few minutes into the bout, Khan come soff the 2nd rope but Kabuki sprays the mist for a DQ. Giant Baba/Tenyru v. Terry Gordy/Buddy Roberts (03/15/84, Salt Lake City) - Was this a World Class match or an AWA match? Who was running Salt Lake? I’ll get back to this one later but it didn’t look like much. Jumbo Tsuruta v. Harley Race (Int'l Title, 09/19/85) - I think this is one of the weaker Race-Jumbo matches. It felt like a Race-Jumbo greatest hits match but it wasn’t very compelling. Both Jumbo & Race busted themselves open for good measure but I think the blood felt forced instead of the story told in the earlier match where Harley busted Jumbo open because of his vicious headbutt attacks. I don’t think all of the Race-Jumbo matches will make the set so I don’t see the need for nominating the weakest one of the bunch.
September 4, 201015 yr comment_5455311 Giant Baba, Mighty Inoue, & Takashi Ishikawa vs. Ashura Hara, Rusher Kimura, & Goro Tsurumi (10/21/85) The fans loved Baba but the rest of this wasn't that good. Killer Khan vs. The Great Kabuki (10/21/85) This is pretty short as Kabuki sprays mist in Khan's eyes for the DQ. Gordy coming out to celebrate with Kabuki because he sprayed his rival was great. Next is Baba/Tenryu vs. Gordy/Roberts from Salt Lake on an AWA show. NWA International Heavyweight Title: Jumbo Tsuruta © vs. "Mr. Puroresu" Harley Race (9/19/85) This is one of the last singles matches between these two. This was a total going through the motions match with these two working their standard match and I agree with Will on everything he said here. The blood did feel like it was blood for having blood in the match and not for any real reason.
