Posted April 10, 200817 yr comment_5430573 Buzz Sawyer vs. Ivan Koloff (TV 4/13/85) - Oh man, if only this was an arena match. Early on, each time Buzz gains control, he ends up biting Ivan’s arm. After a lockup, Ivan tries to choke Buzz so Buzz starts choking Ivan until the ref gives the five-count. Once Ivan takes control, he starts working the arm but we get a commercial break. Buzz takes control with a powerslam but keeps selling the arm, while also damaging the back. He works the bearhug while throwing out a press from the top rope, a couple of suplexes and even clubbing the back when Ivan looks like he is gaining ground. After a ref bump, Jimmy Valiant runs in and makes a quick three count for Buzz and the Russians hit the ring. This was fun enough to throw on the block with Buzz looking great, selling the arm and working the back.

September 20, 201411 yr comment_5626747 "Russian Bear" Ivan Koloff vs. "Mad Dog" Buzz Sawyer (4/13/85) Ivan complaining about Buzz's furry boots is great. Pretty fun start with hard chops by Buzz and random biting until Buzz rams his shoulder into the ringpost giving Ivan the opening he needed to work him over. Ivan is vicious working over the arm even with Buzz biting him on the leg but Buzz would hit a desperation powerslam for a nearfall. Buzz used that moment to regain control and would get a nearfall off a suplex before going to a grounded bearhug which turned into a belly-to-belly when they got on their feet. Buzz would continue to work the bearhug after that both standing and on the mat in between nearfalls off of a press slam, butterfly suplex, and a gutwrench suplex. Nikita was really upset at ringside during all of this and you wondered when he would make his move. Buzz would sling Ivan accidentally into referee Mike Fever then got an O'Connor Roll on Ivan which brought out Jimmy Valiant to make the count. Nikita then entered the ring along with Krusher and it was 3-on-1 on Valiant until Dusty & Buzz made the save. Very fun studio match and I'll pass this forward as a low-end nomination.
