Posted April 19, 200817 yr comment_5430761 This is a ten minute Dundee singles against a solid opponent. They seemed to be doing a lot more amature stuff at this point in the promotion, as the first couple of minutes was takedowns and scrambles, Dundee misses a kneedrop and sells his leg as Latham works on it. Fun stuff and worth a look Memphis 5/80-7/80 disc 1
July 4, 200817 yr comment_5432651 Date is 4/19/80. This was awesome, maybe the best studio singles I've seen so far, and the mat stuff on top of the more Memphisy exchanges was cool. Easy nomination.
July 14, 200817 yr comment_5432970 “Superstar” Bill Dundee vs. Larry Latham (4/19/80) It’s always keen watching Latham before he became a Moondog plus he bleeds from a previous wound on his forehead. Dundee looks great here with his armwork on the mat plus his usual offense with great punches and good selling. Latham is good at taking punishment so he makes Dundee look good but he also dishes it out here as well especially when Dundee misses his diving kneedrop. Latham works over the right knee good as the studio crowd is hot for Bill to come back. Dundee would start firing back but tried a bodyslam which hurt his knee again but as Latham threw him into the corner, Dundee would jump up and spring off with a 180 splash to get the win. This was a really soild TV match and I think it should be on the block.
July 28, 200817 yr comment_5433330 Bill Dundee vs. Larry Latham 4/19/80 (Memphis 5/80-7/80 disc 1) - I mark out for shit like Dundee turning a knuckle lock into a finger stomp. That is the cool kind of shit I expect from Dundee and I love the fact that he sold the leg up until the end which happened to be clean. I have no complaints with this and can see it on the set.
