Posted April 20, 200817 yr comment_5430779 This is from my personal collection and the VQ is a little shaky in parts but watchable. Kamala & Kamala II (Stan Frazier) attacks Dutch Mantell after a squash and they destroy him until Lawler comes out to make the save. (9/18/82) Then we get clips of Dundee/Taylor vs. Eaton/Sugar from MSC on 9/13/82. Dundee is a madman here. “Superstar” Bill Dundee & Terry Taylor vs. Dream Machine & Carl Fergie (9/18/82) This was a good fast paced all-action match for about 5 minutes until Jimmy Hart comes out throwing ink in Dundee’s eyes and led Eaton & Sugar out for a 4-on-2 attack until the face locker room makes the save. Jim Cornette comes out and introduces his first official client in Sherri Martel in a great segment. What an answer to a trivia question that probably no one would get. (9/25/82) Sherri Martel vs. Velvet McIntyre (9/25/82) Cornette leads his new charge to victory. Lawler comes out and tells a story about a black man who met him at the ticket office who asked him if he was getting washed up because he was getting his ass kicked so much. Lawler decides to ask Randy West who is in charge of the video department to make him a compilation video of this and he does with it airing on TV. Lawler then asked West to make another video of him looking good which was him working heel using foreign objects and Lawler says that he is going to use those tactics now on the First Family. This was a great promo and extra material. (9/25/82) Next we get a video from Southeastern introducing The Sheepherders who are coming to town. (9/25/82) Jimmy Hart comes out to introduce his newest tag team in The New York Dolls (Dream Machine & Rick McGraw) and they are Fabulous Fargos knockoffs. This was a tremendous segment and a definite extra. (9/25/82) Lawler then cuts a promo about his upcoming match with Dutch on 10/4/82 at MSC and how it’s going to be different than their past matches as they are friends now. Dutch comes out and cuts an awesome retort saying that Lawler is a conman who lies to make himself look good while he tells the truth no matter who it hurts. This is also extra material. (10/2/82) Jacques Rougeau makes his debut on Memphis TV and looks like a gigolo then gets made fun of by Eaton, Sugar, & Hart with Eaton calling him Jacques Cousteau and this is fucking hilarious. Eaton ends up fighting Rougeau in his street clothes until Sugar runs in to make it 2-on-1 but Rougeau fights them off before the numbers game catches up to him. Stan Lane & Terry Taylor would run out to make the save. (10/2/82) Cornette comes out to announce his newest signing while wearing his yachting hat in Dutch Mantell, which shocks everybody. (10/2/82) The New York Dolls (Dream Machine & Rick McGraw) vs. Stan Lane & Terry Taylor (10/2/82) Ric Flair would be proud to see his two main trainees teaming up. This was a damn good match with both teams looking good but would end in a DQ when Huber & Regal interfered. Cornette comes out to present Dutch with a portrait of them together as a present with Dutch saying that he hasn’t been this excited since he divorced his first old lady. Dutch then talks about Cornette’s lifestyle, which is the complete opposite of Dutch’s with Dutch getting off a blast about Cornette not snorting cocaine like those NFL players. Dutch then asks for the contract to sign but tears it in half and he rips Cornette then breaks the portrait. Sheepherders then come out and tell Cornette to go take some Tylenol that would take care of him. At that time there was an epidemic of people dying from overdosing on Tylenol. Boyd then cuts an awesome promo. Definite extra material. (10/9/82) WWA Tag Titles: The New York Dolls (Dream Machine & Rick McGraw) vs. Spike Huber & Steve Regal (10/4/82) This is from the MSC and basically a long squash match for the Dolls with the match ending in a DQ when Huber threw down Jerry Calhoun trying to save his partner. Lane & Taylor made the save. Then we get the epic Jackie Fargo promo introducing The Fabulous Ones (Steve Keirn & Stan Lane) and this is so great in an unintentionally hilarious way. This is the promo that has been talked about on DVDVR. Home run extra. (10/9/82) Next we get clips of Bockwinkel defeating Lawler for the Southern title at MSC on 10/11/82.
