Posted April 22, 200817 yr comment_5430815 2 out of 3 falls: “Superstar” Bill Dundee, Jerry “The King” Lawler, “Dirty” Dutch Mantell, & Terry Taylor vs. “Beautiful” Bobby Eaton, Rick McGraw, Sabu, & Sweet Brown Sugar (12/4/82) Sabu is subbing for Dream Machine. Dundee takes a real beating for the early part of the match then Taylor tags in to receive more of the same as the Family look fucking awesome here. Lawler tags in and the tide turns as he takes control then Dutch follows with the same although the Family would soon use double-teams to take him down. Sugar hits one of the most beautiful diving elbow drops I’ve ever seen on Dutch for a nearfall. Lawler would get the hot tag and dropped the strap leading to a wild 8-man brawl with Lawler getting a sunset flip on McGraw for the 1st fall victory. Lawler & Eaton start the 2nd fall and hit Lawler hits quite the dropkick on Eaton for a nearfall. Sugar then gets in and throws some bombs on Lawler sending him over the top rope leading to a wild brawl on the floor but it would get back in the ring. Lawler continues to take a beating from the Family but the strap would drop again sure enough and he fights his way to a tag to Taylor who gets jacked up by Sugar. Taylor takes a beating but gets the tag to Dundee who then gets more of the same but hits a 180 splash from the middle rope on Sugar to take the 2nd fall. This was an all-out all-action sprint and a solid nomination with Sweet Brown Sugar being the MVP.

McGraw delivers a brutal looking shoulder breaker to Dundee. Of course Dundee's FIP work at the start is boss. The crowd went nuts for Dundee's hot tag to Taylor. Sugar looks so smooth in the ring. Lawler captured the 1st fall with a sunset flip. The 1st fall was all action. The 2nd fall begins with Lawler and McGraw. I liked Sabu's lucha sell of a non low blow. Lawler takes a king sized over the top rope bump from a Brown Sugar punch. Lawler crotched himself on the ring post corner. Eaton and Sugar were awesome bumping and selling for Lawler's comeback. Dundee gets the 2nd fall after a great exchange with Sugar. This was fun stuff and I endorse it as a nomination
July 9, 200817 yr comment_5432754 In watching the stuff from slightly_twiztid, this is the only match that really stood out. Expiration of time match that gets plenty of time to develop into a super Memphis TV workrate match. The heels get heat on every babyface, there are great punches from the usual suspects, cool bumps like a missed Sugar legdrop (that he gets ridiculous height on) and Lawler getting knocked off the top turnbuckle by Eaton, there's a cool finish with Dundee getting the faces' second pin with his reverse bodypress right at the expiration of time, and more. Easy nomination. VQ is less than much of what we're including but is decent enough to include. (Louisville TV labelled as 12/4 & 12/11, appears to be the WMC taping dates since the 12/4 doesn't have stuff Kris labelled as 11/27 on a Lynch comp.)
July 9, 200817 yr Author comment_5432755 It's 12/4 because they showed Taylor winning the Southern title from Sabu on the previous Monday (11/29) before the match. Plus it's already nommed = http://prowrestlingonly.com/index.php?showtopic=7215

July 9, 200817 yr comment_5432757 Okey doke. With that knowledge, what's the deal w/ the previous ep (Louisville ep labelled 12/4) that has Lawler/Dundee vs Eaton/Sugar? If the DVDs have the proper Louisville airdate it would have been taped 11/27, which conflicts with Lawler/Dundee vs Street/Apocalypse being 11/27 as you said.
July 9, 200817 yr Author comment_5432758 They may not be the proper airdates, I've had that problem with labeled stuff in the past.
July 13, 200817 yr comment_5432908 Kris called Sugar the star but this was the Dundee show in the 1st fall. he made all of the heels look like a million bucks. Of course, we get the dreaded expiration of time but with the faces getting 2 falls straight, I have no problem moving this forward.
August 4, 200817 yr comment_5433585 Yeah this is a great showcase of these guys, it is a great chance to compare punchers with Koko, Eaton, Lawler and Dundee. Lawler takes a bunch of huge bumps for a studio match, this makes me wish we had more Sabu as he is super fun here as is Rick McGraw
