PYT’s would run in setting off a huge brawl. The Pretty Young Things (Norvell Austin & Koko Ware) vs. Bart & Brad Batten (4/27/85) PYT’s are nuts before the match swinging leather belts raising hell at the announce desk. PYT’s then destroy the Battens with their belts before the Daydreamers would make the save. Savage comes out for another madman promo on Lawler. Lawler then comes out for a retort where he goes into his old schtick saying that the fans want him to be a bad guy to get rid of guys like Savage. Lawler then breaks out a fireball scaring Lance to death. Extra material. (4/27/85) Tux then shows a video for his newest charge in the great Bruiser Brody. (4/27/85) “Dr. D” David Shultz makes his return to Memphis and cuts an awesome promo burying everyone especially Hulk Hogan. Definite extra. (4/27/85) Southern Tag Titles: The Pretty Young Things (Norvell Austin & Koko Ware) © vs. The Fabulous Ones (Steve Keirn & Stan Lane) (4/22/85) This is from MSC and Freddie Miller is on commentary with Lance due to the All-South/CWA partnership for this show. This starts maybe a minute or two in the match with Norvell taking a severe bump on his neck after a backdrop. The match was great with everyone looking great and the heat was just as good. Fabs win by DQ though but this is still a definite nomination. Lance Russell introduces the newest booker for Memphis in Tom Renesto and he said that Memphis fans want more 2 out of 3 falls matches and goes to more old school rules. (5/4/85) 2 out of 3 falls: The Pretty Young Things (Norvell Austin & Koko Ware) vs. The Daydreamers (Tim Ashley & Steve Constance) (5/4/85) Tux is wearing a neckbrace at ringside with footage shown later regarding that injury. The Fabs would run out almost immediately attacking Tux & the PYT’s for a DQ in the 1st fall. Fabs then cut a great angry promo before Renesto & Marlin show up along with Billy Travis who delivers a message saying that the PYT’s won’t come back out until the Fabs leave. Renesto then rules that the 1st fall wasn’t a DQ so they would restart it. Fabs would come back out and it was 4-on-2 setting off a wild brawl in the studio to end the 1st fall. Koko couldn’t work the 2nd fall due to “injury” and Billy Travis wearing a wild robe replaces him as Koko does commentary. The makeshift heel team would win the 2nd fall and of course the Fabs come out again with their straps running them off. Slam dunk extra. Next we get clips of Lawler piledriving Tux Newman at MSC on 4/29/85 as he was beating on Savage before Dr. D would attack him. Tim Ashley comes out to confront Tux Newman about getting scratched in the previous match and Tux buries him for being soft. (5/4/85) Tux then shows a Brody compilation video from the AWA of him destroying jobbers. Dr. D comes out mad as hell about Tux going with Brody and Tux grovels. Lawler then comes out and buries Dr. D and the WWF saying he has beat everyone in that company. Lawler then announces that he has stolen Bruiser Brody and he will be his partner on 5/6/85 at MSC against Savage & Shultz. Savage & Shultz then come out for their retort. Definite extra. (5/4/85) Lawler has Jerry Jarrett & Tojo Yamamoto on his show where they talk about their comeback to the ring. This was great stuff. Lance brings out the new Southern champ in Jerry Oske who defeated Savage in Louisville on 5/7/85 and they show the highlights. Then we get highlights of Brody turning on Lawler after their match against Savage & Shultz at MSC on 5/6/85 and this was awesome. Brody cuts a great promo afterwards along with Mr. Kareem Muhammad. Lawler then comes out and says that he is bringing Bill Dundee back to town to take care of business. Definite extra.
