This is a standard tag match between the two teams, and is a nice contrast with the insane brawl. Man were the New Fabs a great team, I really think if they stayed together they would be thought of on the level of the R+R's. I already like them way more then the Fantastics or Rockers. Great punches by Koko and Norvell, as their beatdown was great, I loved the tricky little finish too, fun match, and pretty much a slam dunk disc pick

I think the biggest problem the New Fabs had was that they were the New Fabs. Hell, you have Tommy Rich and Eddie Gilbert and you make them wear the cheesy bow ties and top hats. Even though the breakup was played up pretty well on TV, I would have loved to have seen a Honky Tonk Man heel turn where they accuse the fans of turning on them and then running roughshod over the area.

Southern Tag Titles: The New Fabs (Eddie Gilbert & Tommy "Wildfire" Rich) vs. The Pretty Young Things (Norvell Austin & Koko Ware) (4/12/84)

This is from Rupp Arena in Lexington, KY with no commentary. This was a fun match that focused more on actual wrestling than some of their other matches and both teams looked good here. Koko was throwing bombs here and Norvell had good punches as well with the Fabs selling really well for them. As Phil said the finish was really good and this moves forward.

I rewatched this again and still didn't like it as much as the rest of the group. It had some neat stuff in it though. I loved how Ware was just nailing Gilbert with some great punches. I dug the schtick at the beginning portions of the match. I dug how the heat was set up, and thought the finish was neat. I didn't dig the heat segment as much. Those nerve holds got old. Overall, for me it was lackluster.
