Posted May 28, 200817 yr comment_5431762 CWA 7/26-8/2/86 This has all the extras that need to be on to accompany the Nightmares v Mod Squad match. The promos setting up the dress v day at women’s spa. The advertisement for the spa where they say they will open up early so people can come and watch them work on JD Costello. And the video package of JD Costello getting beauty treatment. The other big angle on these shows is Billy Spears has taken over as manager of Fire and Flame (who are banned from wrestling in the studio) and is doing everything in his power to get him back on TV: Fire and Flame beat Jarrett in parking lot during a Nightmares v Goto/Sato match, Fire and Flame fuck up Jarrett’s car during the Rough and Ready v Jarrett/Diamond match. Fire and flame just disruptive muthafuckas outside the studio. Cool angle. I was kind of dissapointed with Billy spears on the mic, i don't know what I was expecting but at minimum thought he'd have an eye patch. instead he wears shades. There is a Jerry Jarrett talks about Tojo and how he and Tojo were tag partners for so long and how he trusted Tojo to tag with his son and Tojo violated that trust and threatens to knock the “slant out of Tojo’s eyes”. I’m a complete sucker for Jerry Jarrett babyface promos and so throwing this up as a possible extra. There is also an awesome Joe Leduc babyface promo setting up the Wednesday Evansville card opposite Bam Bam Bigalow. Might be worth putting on as an extra. As Joe Leduc rules on the mic as either face or heel. If we put that on you kind of also need to put on the opening Bigalow heel promo. “Joe Leduc, you’re Joe La poop”. Really an example of the face promo being the one that gets you to want to buy the ticket. Matches: Bigalow in handicap match Greg Gillis/Roberson v Jarrett/Tanaka Sato/Goto v Nightmares Lawler/JT Southern v jobbers Mod Squad, Memphis Vice, Ron Sexton v DEMOLITION EXPRESS, Garmen, and someone else- The Rock Steady Crew v Keith Eric,Robison- Bigalow v Jim Jameson in par tier challenge match Memphis Vice v Giant hillbilly, Jerry Lawler Rough and Ready v Jarret/Diamond Sato/Goto v Haskins/Garmen The Sato/Goto v Nightmares match was moving along neat and I really would’ve dug seeing that matchup but it was interrupted by Fire and Flame antics Demolition Express seemed to be Charles and James Atlas as fake Tony Atlas bros, Rock Steady who was the white guy in the team (reverse Norvell) and had a whole note on his boot ( I don’t think he was working a Ska gimmick but who knows) and their valet Starlight. One of the Atlas bros made you miss the wrestling of Tony Atlas Rock Steady Crew (someone in CWA loved the sound of Rock Steady) were Ira Reese and King Cobra. King Cobra’s finisher was the scorpion Death Lock which really shocked me for a match from 86. Bam Bam Bigalow par tier challenge match is really cool (way cooler than your big man in handicap match) but not cool enough to be an extra.
July 30, 200817 yr comment_5433395 Handicap Match: Bam Bam Bigelow vs. David Haskins & Jim Jameson (7/19/86) Squash. Next we get the Jerry Jarrett promo promising to knock the slant out of Tojo’s eyes which is a definite extra. (7/19/86) Jeff Jarrett & Pat Tanaka vs. Greg Gillis & Keith Roberson (7/19/86) Squash. Next we get clips of Frazier/Lawler vs. Fire/Flame from Jackson on 7/18/86 with the debut of Billy Spears who was a manager in the 70’s and managed a young Hulk Hogan when he was in Knoxville. Then we get the JD Costello/salon situation with the salon video being set to Eye of the Tiger which is hilarious. The Nightmares (Danny Davis & Ken Wayne) vs. Tarzan Goto & Akio Sato (7/19/86) The match is going along fine until Randy Hales demands the match be stopped because Fire & Flame are in the parking lot going nuts attacking Jeff Jarrett. Nightmares and other faces try to make the save and send the heels scampering. The whole Fire/Flame stuff is definite extra material. Tojo then tells Lance that he won’t let his guys go back into the ring to wrestle the Nightmares then declares war on the Jarrett family. Jerry “The King” Lawler & JT Southern vs. Don Donovan & Keith Eric (7/19/86) Interesting face team there. 2 out of 3 falls: Memphis Vice (Jerry Bryant & Lou Winston), The Mod Squad (Basher & Spike), & Ron Sexton vs. Demolition Express (Charles & James Atlas, & Rock Steady), Jerry Garmen, & Benny Trailer (7/19/86) Boy what a face team that is with perennial jobbers in Garmen & Trailer and guys who lasted like two weeks. JT Southern vs. The Invader (7/26/86) Squash. The Nightmares (Danny Davis & Ken Wayne) vs. Craig Carson & Ron Sexton (7/26/86) Squash and man are the Nightmares over as faces. Nightmares & JT then gloat after the match about JD Costello wearing a dress. Then we get the skit of JD in the beauty salon then coming out in the studio and this is a slam dunk extra. The Rock Steady Crew (King Cobra & Ira Reese) vs. Keith Eric & Keith Roberson (7/26/86) I liked the Crew gimmick too bad it didn’t last. Billy Spears comes out again demanding that Fire & Flame be able to wrestle on TV and Eddie Marlin tells him again they are banned. Bam Bam Bigelow vs. Jim Jameson (7/26/86) Bigelow has to start the match in a ground position giving Jameson an advantage but that fails. Stan Frazier & Jerry “The King” Lawler vs. Memphis Vice (Jerry Bryant & Lou Winston) (7/26/86) This is fucking great as the match itself was fun then Bigelow comes out and clotheslines Lawler as he had Big Lou in an O’Connor Roll. Lou then covers Lawler for the 3 count and this is another slam dunk extra. Paul Diamond & Jeff Jarrett vs. Rough & Ready (7/26/86) Randy Hales stops the match before it starts and says that Fire & Flame are in the parking lot where they have spraypainted Eddie Marlin’s Lincoln. Marlin comes out chasing Billy Spears away then vows when coming back in the studio that they will pay for it. The match starts and is a squash. Tarzan Goto & Akio Sato vs. Jerry Garmen & David Haskins (7/26/86) Squash.
