Posted June 4, 200817 yr comment_5432000 Really fun match with Mondo breaking out all of his goofy carny shit, which Tanaka sells great. One of the best monkey flips I have ever seen, great looking tapitia. Finish kind sucked, with Diamond running in, but Mondo is great avoiding two guys until he is caught. Fun stuff AWA Wrestling Classics on ESPN
June 16, 200817 yr comment_5432253 Mando and the other Guerreros were really something to see in the AWA, considering that their spots and tactics were so foreign to the promotion.
June 24, 201114 yr comment_5474984 Mando mocks Tanaka with the crane. Mando doing back and fourth leaping kicks to the under side of Tanaka's arms was great. Man Mando locks on a cool hold but I'll be damned if he doesn't look like he is @#!*% Tanaka when he does it. Cool sequence with Mando doing a nip up behind Tanaka and then doing a Backlund roll up for a near fall. Man Mando does some great @#!*% in this. Tanaka comes back with a flying headbutt off the ropes but gets cut off in quick order and eats some sick Euro uppercuts. Man Tanaka does not get a lot of offense but he took SO much cool @#!*% in this. Diamond runs in while Tanaka is in the surfboard to kill the match. This isn't a lock because Tanaka doesn't get enough in, but the match was a @#!*% load of fun and the post-match beatdown by Badd Company was awesome.
May 6, 201213 yr comment_5501855 Mando Guerrero vs. Pat Tanaka (6/12/88) Damn was the Diamond Doll 1988 hot. Mando doing the Daniel-san crane kick pose was hilarious. Mando is fucking awesome here working his offense which was pretty damn fun and it made me long for a Mando vs. Billy Robinson match to watch them out carny each other. Tanaka was a great amateur guy as well so he knew what he had to do to make Mando look good. Tanaka was vicious when he went on offense as he was tired of Mando working him over but the problem was his offensive barrage lasted about two minutes. Mando went back to work on him before locking on a surfboard which brought out Paul Diamond for the DQ. Fun match even though Tanaka had basically no offense but Mando was so great here that I'm passing this as a nomination.
