Brad Armstrong vs. Mike Jackson (9/19/84)

This was a damn good match with Jackson getting quite a bit of offense and both men having great similarities in styles. There were actual points in the match where you would think that Jackson could win this and got nearfalls. The finish was sweet too as Armstrong blocked a headlock takedown twice then whipped it into a Russian legsweep for the win. A goal of mine in this project was to hopefully get a Mike Jackson match on the list and this is the best one I’ve seen so far and this is a nomination.

They show highlights of a Lawler/Oates/Rich vs. Hollywood Blondes/Roop match from the previous week. (10/31/84)

Jimmy Hart makes his debut on TBS with the New York Assassins and this is great stuff. (10/31/84)

The Lightning Express (Brad Armstrong & Tim Horner) vs. The New York Assassins (10/31/84)

This is JIP and the heels get DQed for too much double-teaming.

Ronnie Garvin is out for a promo and Wahoo McDaniel comes out standing along side him saying that people would be surprised what he would do for money and he attacks Garvin. Wahoo beats his ass and Jimmy Hart comes out with Wahoo after the break announcing that he is a member of the First Family. Fun stuff.

Masao Ito vs. Jason Walker (10/31/84)

The Nightmares (Danny Davis & Ken Wayne) vs. Ted Allen & Rufus R. Jones (10/31/84)

Competitive squash. Funny seeing Allen against his former partner and 4 years ahead of the Nightmares/Nightmares feud in Georgia.

Hart then talks shit to Thunderbolt Patterson and this rivalry was awesome because Hart was such a different type of character for TBS.

Jerry “The King” Lawler, Jerry Oates, & “Wildfire” Tommy Rich vs. The Hollywood Blondes (“Golden Boy” Ted Oates & “Hustler” Rip Rogers) & Bob Roop (10/31/84)

This is ordered back from the previous week and it’s cool to watch brother vs. brother. This had some really good back and forth action between the teams with the faces getting the majority of the offense. Lots of quick tags in this match with everyone getting offense but soon enough it would turn into a 6-way brawl. In the confusion, Lawler would hit a diving elbow on Roop to get the win. Ole tells Roop after the match that he has to defend his TV title against Lawler next week. This was fun and I’ll call it a borderline nomination.

Jimmy Hart comes out running off Brad Armstrong on a promo and is hilarious.
