Super match, my favorite of the 3 Lawler-Bockwinkel matches that we have complete. Bockwinkel dominates a lot of it w/ great looking punches and Lawler winning a title from Bockwinkel w/ the fistdrop is a great finish. Easy nomination.

Bock takes over early with some big shots, Lawler’s comeback was great including smothering Bockwinkle with a towel. Lawler’s comeback was brief as Bockwinkle mauls his busting him open and hurling him over the top. Strap drop as usual. Just a slight step below a true Lawler classic, but I could see this sneaking into my top 15 or so. Of course a slam dunk pick

I loved the psychology here as Bock has beaten Lawler just about every time they wrestled except for some DQ's and draws but he only took this match because he wanted to be the one to take Lawler's hair for the first time. Then you had Lawler who was coming into this with Bock holding "his title" in the Southern title and he had never pinned Bock clean in the ring. Great storytelling followed up with great action as Bock was bringing the violence for him and Lawler was being Lawler. The fighting went from inside the ring to outside where Bock was going at Lawler like a wildman which was unlike him. Hart gets involved but that fails leading to an epic Lawler comeback and the win. Tremendous match and a surefire nomination.
