This is from the AWA Nashville tapings, but this is a CWA match and should make this set. Totally fun main event six man match, lots of hilarious stooging from Fuller, Dundee is awesome as always and Valient is a bunch of fun too. Crazy post match with Jamie Dundee, Brickhouse, Cactus, Sylvia, Bruno and Gary Young. Absolutely should make some set, and I think it should make this one.

 

AWA Wrestling classics on ESPN

Actually it looks like this wasn't from Nashville, it was from MSC 9/17/88 but aired on AWA for some reason. The fact that this wasn't even an AWA taping solidifies this for this set

MSC 9/17 was an AWA taping. The week's Nashville, Memphis, and Louisville shows were all AWA TV tapings, though I agree that this stuff should be part of the Memphis set anyway.

- I just want to say that the front face lock drop looked pretty fucking cool. Too bad they didn’t watch the tape and try to use that as a finisher at some point. Jimmy Valiant was used perfectly in this. Come into the ring, do some comedy shtick, kick Bruno’s ass on the outside and give Silvia a quick kiss before tagging out. Perfect. The ending sucked but the post-match was fun. I’ll give it a mid-level nomination.

Awesome seeing Rich teamed with the Stable and the Rich burial for being fat on commentary by Lee Marshall was hilarious. Rich was heavy in his drug phase during this time with Mr. Donnie who Bix loves. I agree with Will regarding Jeff's front face drop looking great as well. The match was great with everyone great in their roles except for Marshall & Verne Gagne on commentary who had no business calling Memphis matches because they were way out of their element. Sure the finish wasn't great but the post match made up for it and this definitely moves forward.
