Posted June 22, 200817 yr comment_5432360 I was looking at a Wayback Machine archive of the PM Film site and I noticed that they have some Memphis in the individual matches section that we don't have from the '70s films or ICW TV: They have: Randy Savage vs Terry Taylor Randy Savage vs Konga (!) Lanny Poffo vs Eddie Gilbert The Interns (Tom Andrews and Jim Starr) vs Randy Savage and Lanny Poffo (Presumably Bass & Smith given the time period but Martinez got it wrong) If their prices are still the same, it would be $25. Since it would come w/ a free match, we could get: Crusher Jerry Blackwell vs Jerry Lawler (upgrade to master quality) Should we go for it? IIRC, Ryan Robb may be able to get us a discount or a faster order or something, he mentioned being friends w/ Ron Martinez but I forget the specifics.
June 23, 200817 yr Author comment_5432392 Still VHS only. Savage-Konga and Lawler-Blackwell aren't available anymore (I'm guessing something happened to the masters but I'm asking), so we have room for 2 matches since it's 4 (+1 free) matches for $25. I was thinking of going for a 20 man battle royal from Memphis (includes Lawler, Brazil, Thesz) from the '70s and something else. He has Giant Baba vs Hans Schmidt which I don't think is floating around, a San Francisco battle royal (listed as including "Graham, Race, Starr, Funk, Piper..."), Andre vs Chuck Wepner, Bruno vs Hans Schmidt, and a match with Blassie & Warren Bockwinkel teaming being the most interesting individual matches IMO. He's also sending me the listings for some unlisted Southwest shows (dunno if Ryan got these for his set), I'm hoping they have Aguayo footage from his run, especially vs Chavo.
June 23, 200817 yr Author comment_5432396 Correction: He does still have Lawler-Blackwell. So the original lineup minus Savage-Konga plus the battle royal. Anyone besides Dan wanna buy in?
June 25, 200817 yr Author comment_5432437 Well, looks like I don't have to pay $25. Tabe just got a comp of PM Film stuff with everything we were gonna order, including Savage-Konga. Setting up a trade right now.
