Posted June 23, 200817 yr comment_5432400 Don Carson does an interview with Mongolian Stomper talking about how great he is. (11/8/80) “Outlaw” Ron Bass & The Super Pro (Randy Rose) vs. Gene Harris & Roy Lee Welch (11/8/80) Competitive squash. Super Pro slaps an injured Brad Armstrong who was doing commentary leading to Bob coming out for a brawl with Pro & Bass. Pro loads up his mask headbutting Bob who juices until Jos LeDuc makes the save. Next is a personality profile about the tournament for the vacant Alabama Heavyweight Title. (11/8/80) Mongolian Stomper vs. Charlie Cook (11/8/80) Stan Frazier does commentary here. Cook puts up a good fight here but eats the loaded boot by the Stomper to lose. Bullet Bob Armstrong & Jos LeDuc vs. The Assassin (I think it’s Dirty Rhodes) & Mike Masters (11/8/80) This starts as a handicap match because Bob was getting bandaged up and LeDuc held his own before Bob would come back out to help and they would win fairly easily. Dennis Condrey & Randy Rose come out and Condrey challenges Orndorff to an arm wrestling match. (1/24/81) Brad Armstrong vs. Oki Shikina (1/24/81) Competitive match with Brad going over. Then we get clips of Armstrongs vs. Condrey/Rose from Mobile on 1/23/81 with Mr. Saito getting involved rendering Bob bloody. Next is a great Jimmy Golden promo explaining why he turned heel on his brother Ron. (1/24/81) Mr. Saito vs. Roy Lee Welch (1/24/81) Squash. Norvell Austin, Ron Fuller, & Paul Orndorff then do a personality profile about the upcoming 2-ring battle royals with retorts by Ron Bass, Dennis Condrey, Randy Rose, & Mr. Saito. (1/24/81) Dennis Condrey & Randy Rose vs. Robert Gibson & Frank Lavert (1/24/81) Competitive squash. Then we get clips of Austin/Orndorff vs. Condrey/Rose as the finals of a 2-ring battle royal from Mobile on 1/23/81. Norvell Austin & Paul Orndorff vs. Jimmy Jones & The Superstar (1/24/81) Squash. Condrey & Rose come out after the match with a table and chairs for the arm wrestling match. Orndorff would get the win although Rose tried to interfere and when he tried to hit Orndorff with a chair it backfired by hitting him in the face. Dennis Condrey & Randy Rose vs. Norvell Austin & Robert Gibson (1/31/81) Ron Bass does commentary as he is feuding with Gibson. Condrey & Rose look great here especially Rose with his headscissors spots and flying dropkick off the second rope while Condrey brought the power. Austin & Gibson put up a fight with Gibson playing FIP taking a beating but gets the hot tag to Norvell. Austin comes in cleaning house but Gibson tags back in so Bass can trip him up on the floor causing him to lose. Bass & Gibson brawl on the floor as Norvell gets double-teamed but Orndorff would make the save. Fun match but not a nomination. Then we get clips of a Condrey/Rose vs. Austin/Orndorff match from Mobile on 1/30/81. Jimmy Golden then does another great promo about turning on his cousin Ron and holding up a bloody mask. We need to put the whole angle as an extra because there were great promos here by all sides. Jerry Stubbs vs. Roy Lee Welch (1/31/81) Stubbs was wearing the NWA World Jr. Heavyweight Title that he won the night before in Mobile from Les Thornton. This was a really good match and almost enough to be considered for a nom. Next is a personality profile with Jerry Stubbs who talks about Brad Armstrong winning the vacant US Jr. Heavyweight Title and Brad gives a retort. (1/31/81) Mr. Saito wants to demonstrate his Cobra Clutch and puts it on Roy Lee Welch and of course goes too far so Bob Armstrong runs out to pull him off. Then they show clips of Armstrong/Saito from Mobile on 1/30/81.
