CWA Wrestling 7/10/89 in Jonesboro, AR (2 hours)

+“Dirty White Boy” Tony Anthony vs. Action Jackson

This was really stiff and fun and was looking like a dark horse disc candidate, but it ended really abruptly

+Bill Dundee vs. Mark Starr

This was pretty fun, but only went about 3 minutes.

+Ricky Morton vs. Black Bart

Morton was doing some awesome finger manipulation, but this was also kind of aborted, with Bart getting Dqed for an object.

+Dustin Rhodes vs. Chris Champion

Fun shortish match with Dustin constantly being double teamed by the Wildside. There is a super creepy conversation between the guy doing the HH (who I am almost positive is RF) and a little boy. “How old are you?” “9” “LOL I’ll pretend you said 18.

Dutch Mantell vs. Billy Joe Travis

Fine but really short

+Jeff Jarrett vs. Iceman King Parsons

This got more time then most of the stuff on this show, and was perfectly fine longish wrestling, still with the quality of stuff we have so far, I don’t think this makes the cut

+Ricky Morton & Bill Dundee vs. Iceman King Parsons & Brickhouse Brown

Really fun basic tag match, with Morton and Dundee looking great together, and the Blackbirds being nice heel foils, nothing blow away though, I am going to throw this on the block, but not really go to the wall for it.

+Jerry Lawler, Jeff Jarrett & Nightmare Freddie vs. Dutch Mantell, Master of Pain (Undertaker) & Ronnie Gossett

This I will go to the wall for, awesome match, really fun stooging by all of the heels, really impressive performance by Gossett in the role of evil manager taking his cheapshots and getting his comeuppance. Freddie is of course a blast to watch, just a really well put together main event six man tag

+AWA World Champion Jerry Lawler vs. Brickhouse Brown

I think this was better then the Iceman match, Brown had some good looking stuff, and Lawler is fun, but kind of a bullshit finish, and it felt like it needed some more time to really get rocking.
