Posted July 4, 200817 yr comment_5432642 This starts with a personality profile on Crusher Blackwell with rare footage from Knoxville in the late 70’s and a video from the AWA. (4/25/81) CWA TV Title: Dutch Mantell © vs. Vinnie Romeo (4/25/81) Dutch wins fairly easily. Masa Fuchi & Atsushi Onita vs. Roy Rogers (Johnny Rich) & Ron Sexton (4/25/81) The Japanese look good. Handicap Match: Dream Machine vs. Pat Hutchinson & David Price (4/25/81) Dream is fun here. “Superstar” Bill Dundee & Suzette Ferrara vs. David Oswald & Wendi Richter (4/25/81) The crowd is into the women and Dundee is great here kissing Richter when he gets a chance. This gets over 10 minutes and is pretty fun. Southern Tag Titles: Dream Machine & “Superstar” Bill Dundee © vs. Wayne Ferris & Kevin Sullivan (5/2/81) This was a good back and forth match with all four men bumping around for each other throwing some good shots. Dundee was especially sharp here on both offense and playing the FIP taking some good punishment from the heels who really work over Dundee’s back. Sullivan is jacked to the gills here and uses a nice looking bearhug to squeeze Dundee all the way to the mat. Ferris just pounds on Dundee with punches and holds him by the hair to keep him on his feet. Dundee shows great fire fighting back with punches trying to get to Dream but Dream would decide to jump in there as well and as this happens Dundee falls to the floor with help from Jimmy Hart. Sullivan would bring Dundee back in the ring and gets a small package for the win. This was lots of fun and a nomination. Eddie Gilbert & Koko Ware vs. The Bounty Hunters (David & Jerry Novak) (5/2/81) Eddie & Koko before they were stars but they showed promise here especially Koko who threw a fucking world class dropkick. The heels start pounding on the faces and then when Jimmy Kent gets involved they get DQed quickly. Fun little match. Jimmy Hart comes out gloating about his boys winning the Southern Tag Title before Jimmy Kent comes out whining about not being able to talk. Hart tells him that he is a redneck and that’s why he can’t talk and it ends up being a brawl between the managers. This is definite extra material. Dutch Mantell vs. David Price (5/2/81) Squash. Masa Fuchi & Atsushi Onita vs. Roy Rogers & Koko Ware (subbing for Tim Leonard) (5/2/81) The faces put up a fight but fall to the Japanese.
