As in the DVD is too soft or the VHS has a better picture due to a certain amount of softness?

The latter. The DVD looked warped. The original VQ is nothing to sneeze at in the first place but I can't really explain how a DVD transfer and a tape 1st gen from the same source could have the tape look better.

I'll take your conversions then. I still need to pick out 5 more discs...

Sure no problem. I just have to ask... why did you send me the Lynch Masters discs?

Our existing copies of those discs have slight jitter and are dubbed down more than the others (which are Fredo's DVD conversions of Lynch VHS dubs). There are some annoying Lynch title splits (so the existing versions would be probably better for the nominated matches, unfortunately) but the VQ is much better on these and should prove useful for the extras at least as well as general use.

OK. well I already converted from those for the extras so I'll have to see if it is that big of a difference to do it over again.

 

On a side note, great edit on the empty arena match. I imagine that your split will eventually be the conventional version used in the future.

Thanks. As a single camera shoot, it's harder to edit than something like Sheik-Slaughter, so I had to find milestone frames to edit (when an item goes out of frame and the like).

 

On that note...do you have my edit of Lawler & Kaufman on Letterman? It's Lynch's w/ the swearing edited in from my VHS copy of it. It's on the DVD I put together that also has the Detroit films, a handheld of Booker winning the TV title from Benoit, and an episode of the Lawler show from '83 that we were missing. I seem to remember maybe sending it to you for the Lawler show but I'm not sure. If I didn't, Rick Crane's Lawler comp. edit is good enough (so don't worry about it).
