David Von Erich vs. Kamala (11/24/83)

They are setting David up for his run to the NWA title and they put him against the monster Kamala to further his push. This was nothing pretty as it was a straight up brawl with Kamala bloodying David and getting off on tasting his blood. David would make his comeback though getting the claw on Kamala but Friday would interfere so David put the claw on him on the apron then Akbar would attack David and got the claw for his pleasure as well with the match ending in a DQ. David then gets attacked after the match until Kerry makes the save with him slamming Kamala. The finish was blah but after watching this again I changed my stance from the first viewing because the action was really good and bloody plus it had a hot angle going with it so I will back this as a nomination.

I'll back this as a low-level nomination. Loved Kamala's cautious heel stuff at the beginning, and I think he actually pulled the better bladejob (helps that he had white facepaint). David looks double tough for surviving Kamala's onslaught, too. Plus, this doesn't have the lengthy heart claw sequence that always seems to slow down your non-squash Kamala matches, so they kept up a really good pace the whole time.
