Man this might have even been better then their 1986 match, just a nasty stiff fight, some of the best punches I have ever seen with both guys just laying into each other. Fujiwara was throwing a great looking jab and right cross, Maeda hurls an amazing looking uppercut. Finish was the best finish I have seen on this set so far, I marked the fuck out and don’t want to ruin it for everyone. This is neck and neck with Fujiwara v. Choshu as my number #1

This beauty came out of nowhere as it was a vicious, shootstyle match in the midst of a lot of great pro-style work from these guys. I've never thought of Maeda as a puncher, but he landed some great ones, including a crazy uppercut near the end. Fujiwara retaliated with a headbutt every bit as violent as the ones he used to TKO Yamazaki in their '89 classic. And the ending was pure greatness from him (top-notch selling from Maeda as well.) This match-up almost never went wrong, but we might have the peak right here. This could be my No. 1 as well.

The first few minutes were some of the most silent moments I have heard from the NJ crowd but I saw where Fujiwara was coming from, working on the leg when he could. It really picks up about 5 minutes in when they start striking each other.. I love how Maeda tries to engage Fujiwara but he puts his leg on Maeda's leg to prevent him from attacking with the kicks. Those fucking strikes from both guys are vicious. Seriously, Maeda's uppercut looked nasty. I love how Fujiwara retreats to the corner when Maeda may have the upprhand or when they are on the mat, Fujiwara hits the restart button until he can capitalize... and FUCK did he capitalize with the end. Nomination.
