Isamu Teranishi & Kuniaki Kobayashi vs Tiger Mask & Kantaro Hoshino (20/7) - This was fine in terms of keeping four guys who were feuding in front of the fans -- kind of like a RAW main event two weeks before a pay-per-view. It featured nothing we haven't seen from these guys before. 2. Seiji Sakaguchi, Tatsumi Fujinami & Kengo Kimura vs Riki Choshu, Animal Hamaguchi & Tiger Toguchi (20/7) - The fans were hot for any Choshu-Fujinami interaction, but there wasn't that much. And Toguchi was not a positive addition to the Ishin Gundan mix. This one never drew me in. 3. Tiger Mask vs Halcon 78 - Typical match between Tiger Mask and a guy who had no chance to beat him. That's not a knock on Halcon. The match just didn't have much fire to it. 4. Riki Choshu & Animal Hamaguchi vs Rusher Kimura & Isamu Teranishi - I wanted Kimura to seem more pissed at Hamaguchi for jumping ship. Instead, the first time they were in together, he put him in a shitty looking kneebar. Oh well. Choshu was pretty badass in this, mixing it up with Kimura and clobbering Teranishi a bunch. But the whole thing ended abruptly. No nomination. 5. Tatsumi Fujinami vs Adrian Adonis - This was about what you'd expect from these guys -- stiff with lots of fire from Fujinami and lots of theatrical bumping from Adonis. It never built to anything profound as Fujinami was more focused on Choshu. But these guys were two of the best in the world at this point and they did enough of their thing to earn a low-level nomination.
