Big John Studd vs Killer Khan - Bad match-up -- slow, awkward, devoid of heat. 2. Akira Maeda vs Paul Orndorff - This had a really nifty early segment in which Orndorff held an armbar through numerous counter attempts (the one involving Maeda's attempted head scissors was particularly cool.) But I didn't think it contained much else of note. I know Will nominated it, and I won't fight to keep it off, but I wouldn't vote for it. 3. Yoshiaki Yatsu, Animal Hamaguchi & Riki Choshu vs Antonio Inoki, Tatstumi Fujinami & Kengo Kimura - Solid six-man but not one of the best between these factions and thus, not a nomination. 4. Akira Maeda & Kengo Kimura vs Yoshiaki Yatsu & Riki Choshu - Well, Choshu and Yatsu beat the holy hell out of Kimura, which isn't a bad thing. Kind of a glorified squash though. 5. Animal Hamaguchi vs Tatsumi Fujinami - I expected more energy out of these two. They didn't go through their mat segment with any kind of intensity. It picked up when they started trading bigger moves, but even then, there wasn't much rhyme or reason to their attacks. Fujinami ultimately gave up on a pin attempt to run out and attack Choshu. I guess that showed how much of a priority Hamaguchi was. 6. Antonio Inoki vs Big John Studd - I enjoyed Inoki punching Studd in the face a bunch of times in a row. But I've seen this match-up twice now and hope not to see another. Studd matches tend to be fastforward material.
