Posted September 2, 200817 yr comment_5434366 Split-second of Mike Rotunda vs. Masa Fuchi from Mid-Atlantic This looked like it was probably OK. Mark Romero vs. Roddy Piper From St. Louis, JIP, but not by much. I dug this, actually felt like a borderline nomination, but there's been too much better stuff. Piper's such a character that it's hard not to enjoy his matches, and future Mark Youngblood brought some fire to the proceedings. Bob Brown & Jerry Ho vs. Korstia Korchenko & Tonga John Surprisingly fun match. I mean, Korchenko stinks, but Tonga John is the future Barbarian, and I was surprised by how much I enjoyed Bob Brown. His stuff with Barby was a lot of fun and left me hoping for a singles match, which I was lucky enough to get later on the disc. Chavo Guerrero vs. Rip Rogers We finally get back to Texas for a fun squash between Chavo and Rip "King of All Jobbers" Rogers. Bob Brown vs. Tonga John And we're right back in St. Louis for this match, which, while fun, doesn't quite live up to the expectations I had from their tag match. I mean, there was some neat comedy stuff early on, but it never does quite reach the level of hate I was promised. Still, proto-Barbarian does die for our pleasure off of a missed diving headbutt near the end. The climax of Race winning the NWA Title from Flair Nothing really earth-shattering here, to be honest. George Wells vs. Steve Sypert Next, please. Harley Race is interviewed about his upcoming rematch with Flair Nothing special. Jerry Ho vs. Grizzly Evans OK match on account of Grizzly Evans being quite the ring general. Manny Fernandez & Mark Romero vs. Dewey Robertson & Hercules Hernandez This match left no real impression on me. News Report about King Kong Brody standing atop the Checkerdome to promote a St. Louis show there Kamala vs. Arman Hussein, Toru Yatsu, & Mike Bond Nothing too exciting. Brody runs out to save Bond at the end Bruiser Brody interview Eh. Harley Race vs. Kevin Von Erich Michael Hayes & Terry Gordy vs. Kerry Von Erich & Bruiser Brody I've talked about these elsewhere already.
