Posted September 10, 200817 yr comment_5434487 Another excellent match in the promotion's biggest feud. Choshu and Fujinami had a hot stretch early. Maeda got to look strong, taking the hot tag from Fujinami and beating the hell out of Yatsu. Of course, he ended up stuck in the Ishingun corner and boy did Choshu and Yatsu lay a whipping on him. Every blow seemed stiff as could be as Fujinami looked on helplessly. Eventually, he laid waste to Yatsu on the outside, but Choshu simultaneously nailed Maeda with a lariat to set up the countout. I wouldn't say it added anything new. It was just a really good tag match that got the crowd fired up. So, nomination.
August 31, 200916 yr comment_5443579 I was fired up for this early on and then Yatsu/Fujinami kind of blew a move so Yatsu went into a chin lock. I think that may be the most annoying thing about early New Japan... overuse of the chinlock. Some stuff made no sense to me. For example, Yatsu works to get Maeda in a crab only to tag in Choshu, dropping the crab he just applied and not doing any double teams to transition. Then later on, Yatsu whiffs a dropkick that barely grazes MAeda nad he sells it like he was a shot. I enjoyed this overall but lots of little things to not like including the ending so I am going to go no since we have these guys on the set in better tags and Six mans and there were enough irritating things to keep it off.
September 1, 200916 yr comment_5443673 I liked this a bunch, they lay in a really man sized beating on Maeda, which is one of the better beatings the Army has done. There is no doubt that all of these matches are kind of samey, but I thought this was a good version, of something I have seen a bunch of. Choshu busting his ass on the first lariat was pretty amusing
