Posted September 14, 200817 yr comment_5434562 A harbinger of better days for the juniors. They worked this as younger, more athletic striker against wily veteran wrestler. Takada showed he wouldn't be bullied early when the action spilled outside and he nailed Kobayashi with a metal sign. Takada hit most of his signature offense, but he got overeager at times and Kobayashi invariably took advantage. Takada got to look good by kicking out after several big moves. Each near fall really popped the crowd. Kobayashi ultimately won with a Perfectplex. They might have botched the ending as Takada appeared to kick out, but the ref called for the bell anyway. This was the first strong singles performance by Takada on NJ TV and a solid nomination.
August 31, 200916 yr comment_5443594 I love Kobayashi and his hot starts. before Takada can take off his jacket and the streamers are cleared, he is already on the attack. Takada really played his role perfectly. Kind of reminds me of when 123 Kid first started in WWF or even Evan Bourne this year. Who is this kid and why is he getting the best of Kobayashi? The style is different but the energy is the same. Really fun match even though it includes the world's worst bow and arrow attempt and a sloppy roll-up later on. You know I am conditioned to American wrestling because I thought Takada was going to pull off the upset after the German when KK was arguing with the ref. The questionable ending doesn't bother me that much because it gives Takda a reason to come back and fight another day. I enjoyed this so nomination.
September 2, 200916 yr comment_5443749 Sure lets put this on, solid little match, with Takada maximizing the things he does I liked, and minimizing the things that suck. At no point did this blow me away, but it was a good solid nomination I have no problem moving on.
