They do the same restart that Kerry did against Lawler with both guys agreeing to keep going. They lose their tempers and Fujinami ends up busting Kerry open with a chair. Cool finish with Kevin coming to ring side to check on a bloody Kerry and the ref stopping the match which is I assume how they got out of switching the WCCW title. Lots of stuff going on here, I think it is worth at least a look by other folks Sky-A 115
February 16, 200916 yr comment_5437259 I enjoyed the claw spots and if they had to do a non-finish, I guess a blood stoppage was as good as you could want. I wish they had worked a little longer after the restart to build to the blood. But the whole match had a pleasing intensity to it. I have no problem moving it forward.
April 30, 200916 yr comment_5438946 Tatsumi Fujinami vs. Kerry Von Erich (12/09/88) - I am going to reserve judgment on this one untilI see if I can locate a complete copy without commercial breaks. What I saw I was digging with the claw as the main focal point but Kerry ends up with all the blood. It would have been cool as shit if Kerry's claw made Fujinami bleed the way Fritz made Jumbo bleed.
August 16, 200916 yr comment_5442835 After the early claw attempts by Kerry, great strategy by Fujinami to attempt to lay waste to Kerry's hand. Kerry's entire strategy revolves around the claw and Fujinami's entire purpose is to survive it so the match has some real intrigue. The brawling outside was high-end with Kerry frustrated and using the chair only of rit to come back and haunt him when Fujinami grabs it and ends up busting him open with the ringpost. The blood stoppage kind of sucks. The match was still building when it was stopped. I mean, fuck, we have the Fujinami-Saito showdown form the elimination which was ten minutes of bloody warfare and there was little to no interaction after Kerry was busted open. Bad call and it killed a match that could have used another 5-10 minutes of a hot stretch run to cement it as a surefire nomination. As it stands, no vote. NJC 323
