Posted September 15, 200817 yr comment_5434591 Teranishi and Kobayashi seemed to enjoy punishing the painfully thin Honaga. I enjoyed them enjoying it. Takada got in plenty of offense but he cost his team the match when he got distracted by brawling with Teranishi on the outside and left Honaga alone with Kobayashi for too long. I'll nominate this for the brisk action and decent storytelling, but I won't be surprised if it gets pushed aside in the end.
June 11, 200916 yr comment_5440559 Kuniaki Kobayashi & Isamu Teranishi vs. Nobuhiko Takada & Norio Honaga (3/30/84) - I think some of the things these guys were pulling off here in 1984 must have been mind boggling. Honaga’s comeback on Kobayashi specifically comes to mind. I absolutely loved the sequence where Takada sweeps Kobayashi, preps him for a tombstone to only get dropkicked by Isamu into a pin. This allows Kobayashi to recover and execute a tombstone on Takada. Beautiful. This is a match Phil will probably hate but that has to be on the set. NJ Classics 162
June 11, 200916 yr comment_5440560 I didn't hate it, but this wasn't doing a ton for me, the finish felt blown, and there was a sunset flip section with Takada and Kobyashi which was Davey Richards shitty. I did really like Teranahashi, drop you on my knee offense, and if he had broken out his awesome IWE tope I might have signed on, but I am leaning no.
June 12, 200916 yr comment_5440598 I think this should probably move forward. I liked all the Teranishi moves out of fireman's carries and drops onto the knee: I kept on expecting him to invent the go to sleep. But this fell apart for me after a Kobayashi fisherman. Takada gets put in a chinlock where it looked like the two started calling spots and then everything after that felt really subpar. First two thirds really good/last third I could live without.
