This is all out action with both wrestlers just punching each other. I loved how KVE was punching Gordy in the leg. Gordy's punches looked lethal. The blood added a lot here in the sense it got the gimmick over. Gordy was just tremendous in this match. The match was just a great punches base match and makes it as a nomination. int: Freebirds int: Michael Hayes + Buddy Roberts - Reunion Arena This does a good job recapping the Ice/Roberts hair feud. 2. Jimmy Garvin vs David Von Erich - Texas title held up for the 4th time; Reunion Arena This is just a good feud. Again this is another good bout between the 2. The headlock work on the mat was done well. I loved how DVE attempted to bridge out of the hammerlock. I liked how both wrestlers were putting up a fight on the mat. Again both wrestlers facials played a part in my enjoyment of the bout. This was the best bout between the 2 so far that I've seen. This should move forward as a nomination. Garvin's bitching and moaning of the title being held up was tremendous/ 3. Iceman Parsons vs Buddy Roberts - hair match; Reunion Arena This was fun, and should go on as an extra. Roberts does a lot of nice little touches in his matches. For example, when he went to pin Parsons he face palmed Parsons with Roberts hand. That was a neat touch, that was Finlay like. Damn Parsons chops were stiff. The angle afterwards with the Freebirds cream was a great payoff. 4. Kamala vs Tollah Yatsu, Mike Bond, + Arman Hussain - Reunion Arena It was what it was. To build Kamala as a monster heel. Brody gets involved to set up a Kamala/Brody feud. I think the matches would be painful on the eyes, but I wonder if it drew? int: Bruiser Brody - Reunion Arena int: Michael Hayes - Reunion Arena 5. Michael Hayes + Terry Gordy vs Kerry Von Erich + Bruiser Brody - Reunion Arena The Birds just bumped all over for Brody. This was just a quick bout that got no time to develope. - recap of the Reunion Arena matches 6. Kerry Von Erich vs Terry Gordy - lumberjack match This is another good bout between the 2. The gimmick wasn't used much, though it was used in the finish. I'm kinda on the fence on this one. As of now I'm going to pass on it. I thought it was good wrestling, but this matchup has resulted in better bouts. int: Jimmy Garvin int: Buddy Roberts + Terry Gordy 7. Bruiser Brody + Iceman Parsons vs Buddy Roberts + The Mongol Parson's working the apron is worth a billion stars. The heat was hot here, for Brody in particular. Robert's working the head gear gimmick was tremendous. Parson's was put in FIP and did a good job though he didn't milk the hot tag for all it's worth. Parson's selling for Robert's head gear head butts got the gimmick over because Parson's never sold a headbutt up until this point. int: Jimmy Garvin This needs to be added to the valet for the day skit on the extras. 8. Kevin Von Erich vs Jimmy Garvin The crowd just loves them some Von Erichs. KVE just kills Garvin with a stiff drop kick. I was digging the head scissors on the mat. Kevin had Garvin looking like a pretzel on the mat. Garvin screams of agony was a thing of beauty to hear. Kevin keeping the focus on Garvin's neck told a good story. That finish was neat too. Overall, this was good stuff and another nomination. int: Buddy Roberts
September 22, 200817 yr comment_5434770 Texas Brass Knuckles Title: Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy © vs. Kerry Von Erich (6/10/83) This title didn’t get defended enough IMO. Kevin wearing daisy duke jean shorts in Kerry’s corner is hilarious. For a match based on punches with a title based on punches on the line this was a fucking great match as both men just teed off on each other especially Gordy who was throwing bombs. Plus we had juice here which is always a plus to go with the molten heat. Kerry’s comeback was fucking great as he was so awesome in that position then we had Kevin & Hayes get involved which was legal but distracted Kerry so he could get pinned. Fantastic match and a slam dunk nomination. Next we get Hayes & Buddy in the locker room at Reunion Arena pimping the upcoming hair match with Iceman. Decision Match for the vacant Texas Heavyweight Title: “Gorgeous” Jimmy Garvin vs. David Von Erich (6/17/83) This was a damn good match with both men working hard and looking good in everything they did both on offense and defense along with some great selling. The crowd was great as usual adding an extra element to the match as it helped give it a big-match feel which it was. The finish was a little odd because Sunshine missed her spot but she would get it the 2nd time and Garvin would win the title. Bronko Lubich then finds out what happened and decides to hold the title up again with Garvin going nuts. Like I said a very good match and a nomination. Hair vs. Hair: Iceman King Parsons vs. Buddy Roberts (6/17/83) Roberts has the infamous Freebird hair cream in his hand so he’s ready. Both men come out just going to war on each other throwing great strikes and Iceman’s headbutts and chops were equalizers during the good back and forth action. Roberts would reverse an O’Connor Roll and pulled Iceman’s tights almost off to get the pin but David Manning is leery of this. Roberts then goes for the hair cream then fights Manning over it before Iceman knocks him down then hits the Butt Butt. Iceman then gets the hair cream and puts it all over Buddy’s head anyway. Hayes comes down as Iceman dances then Hayes would get his ass kicked before leaving the ring. The crowd goes nuts and I think this deserves a look for nomination. Loser Leaves Town Handicap Match: Kamala vs. Mike Bond, Yoshiaki Yatsu, & Armand Hussein (6/17/83) Kamala destroys these guys and they all leave town. Bruiser Brody then runs out and brawls with Kamala setting up a feud. Brody then cuts a promo about the reason why he has come back to World Class to help the Von Erichs feud with the Freebirds. Hayes would then cut a retort in a couple of solid promos. American Tag Titles: The Fabulous Freebirds (Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy & Michael Hayes) © vs. Bruiser Brody & “Modern Day Warrior” Kerry Von Erich (6/17/83) The story here was that the Birds were doing all they could to keep Kerry from tagging in Brody but he would and when he did he just beat the hell out of the Birds. Brody did though let the Birds get some offense in before tagging in Kerry leading to a 4-way brawl. Brody would catch Kerry in the air and he would throw him on Hayes for the win. Fun match but not a nomination. Lumberjack Match: “Modern Day Warrior” Kerry Von Erich vs. Terry “Bamm Bamm” Gordy (7/1/83) This was a good match but it wasn’t as good as the match earlier on this disc although the lumberjack stip added a different element and this was more of a basic wrestling match. There was some great crowd heat here to show how hot this territory was at this time. Both men really bumped hard for each other here and this matchup has become one of the best in the area over the last month. As the match would go on it got better because both men knew how to work a match like this to keep the crowd hot especially during Gordy’s bearhug spot as both men’s facials and body language had the crowd eating out of their hands. Both men would go to the floor with Brody beating on Gordy and Garvin getting shots in on Kerry but the action would go back to the ring with Gordy hitting a backdrop suplex and a backbreaker for nearfalls. Gordy would then pick Kerry up for a slam in the corner letting Brody trip him up so Kerry could get an inside cradle for the win. The lumberjacks would brawl in the ring after the match as the crowd goes crazy. Like I said this wasn’t as good as the brass knuckles match but still very solid and a nomination. Buddy Roberts then cuts his first promo in the headgear promising revenge on Iceman. Bruiser Brody & Iceman King Parsons vs. The Mongol (Gene Lewis) & Buddy Roberts (7/1/83) The crowd was molten here for the faces especially Bruiser and while this was a fine match especially when Iceman & Roberts were in there, it wasn’t nomination material. Garvin then cuts a promo about his feud with David Von Erich and this leads up to the valet for a day stipulation. Kevin Von Erich © vs. “Gorgeous” Jimmy Garvin (7/1/83) The molten crowd this night was extremely hot for this one and especially for Kevin who got a monster pop when Stranglehold hit the PA. Garvin was a real chickenshit early on in the match which you didn’t see much in World Class as the heels were mostly all tough guys so this was a great contrast. Kevin again is very fluid on the mat working the headscissors turning Garvin all kinds of ways and him selling like he was close to death. Garvin would soon take control though with punches but it wouldn’t last too long as Kevin would fight back and hit a nice victory roll for the win. The only thing I didn’t like about the match was that Garvin didn’t have more offense but still this was a damn good match and a nomination.

Brody gets involved to set up a Kamala/Brody feud. I think the matches would be painful on the eyes, but I wonder if it drew? So far, I've seen two Kamala/Brody matches, and they are probably the two best Brody matches I've ever seen. Kamala is awesome and Brody manages to not suck in the first match and is actually kinda good in the second. They're both pretty short, but might be worth considering as extras.
